I agree, opposition fans seem to only remember his shaky start for us and fail to recognize his excellent backhalf of the season. There is a good reason why Fabio became such a fan favourite, the man is crirminally underrated by you lot and if he does sign be prepared to eat your words quickly.

LB should overlap LM in a good system. I think its invaluable having capable full backs who can be apart of the attack. I think Fabio is great going forward. Its defensive positioning I'd perhaps worry about him - but I haven't seen enough of that.

If we we're gonna sign him on his pace and agility, he might work out as a left winger, but we've just signed Ali Abbas for that role. Unless Abbas is a back up role and he's going to be starting XI that might work, but if we're signing him for defensive positions, we're fucked.

One of the worst defenders in the league. Sure he's okay attacking and I like his crossing, but really shaky defending IMO. Would play at LM like many suggested.

Wouldn't mind at all. Was MV's best player last season and will add a bit more fire to the derbies.

I thought he was great. Made a few very costly mistakes early on but then was fantastic for us in a very forgettable year. Made some great forward runs linking with Kewell quite well and was rarely beaten at the back, and if he was had great pace to cover well.

By the way I first read it as DANI Alves, now THAT would be ambitious!

But I agree it is unambitious. I have faith though in Crook. It's not like Gary Cole would be having all the say, Crook has been watching HAL games and has been involved. Still I'd prefer some of those options that VoR has been putting on his website.
