quichefc - the name of my former indoor soccer team (Insportz Oakleigh). I now play in Box Hill and also play VicSoccer Div 1 (East).
I live in Melbourne and grew up playing/following australian rules but began to follow soccer in the lead up to and post 'the Iran match'. I was in year 12. I began to follow Arsenal (and was immediately rewarded)... I didn't have an affinity to NSL but obviously supported South Melbourne during the World Club Cup back in 2000.
I'm now a Melbourne Heart member but admitedly did support Victory in their early days before becoming disenfranchised. The Heart just seems a better fit... I guess I didn't realise how frustrated I was by Victory until I was given an alternative.
I've been on FFT for a little while but find I become totally unproductive at work and begin to ignore my family so generally dive in and dive out.
Anyway, that's me - quichefc.

Greetings all!
My name's Scott and I've been a lurker here for years but only finally signed up this afternoon. I dunno why, just bored I guess. I'm from Melbourne and was born and almost religiously raised on "footy" and had little to no exposure to football until the early mid 2000's when I was on holiday in Barcelona and my friends forced me to sit and watch a game. I remember Ronaldinho, Deco and co playing like the harlem globetrotters and it was love at first sight. I was converted you could say. I currently live/work in Moscow and love not having to get up at 5am to watch champions league games. Being here I've since adopted цска москва but most Russians seem to like Man U, Barca, Gunners and Chelsea over their own teams. I return home about once a year and despite the doom and gloom you constantly read regarding the state of football in oz I think it's great to see young kids playing football in victory shirts. Maybe some were too quick to call the A-League a success after a few good seasons, and are now too quick calling it a failure after a few bad ones. Anyway, that's enough.
see ya,
S

Just saw this thread, should probably post something here. Hi I'm Brad, long time forum lurker but relatively new poster. I'm 26, I grew up in Ballarat, Victoria but have lived in Melbourne for the past seven years. I'm a huge Victory and Manchester United fan.
Grew up in an AFl-heavy family but have always loved football, and played all through my teens (not any good). Started following United when I was about 10 in the mid 90's, but growing up in the country I didn't really have any connection to any of the NSL teams so really didn't follow Australian football until Victory came along. Have been a member since season 2.

Well I don't want to get in thie debate again, as it can get everyone riled up. But they have a lot of new fans now due to being the best in the world. Where were they 5 years ago?

So what is the connection with Barca? Spanish or anything, or just like their football and thought you would hop on board?

Hola Australian football website. I born in Spain, but sent to Antipodes for special work. I based in Australasia, but work on Pacific Islands. Fly in, fly back, fly in, over and over.
I visit Yellow Fever website, say hello, but member there, called Smithy, did not like me. I did not like decision, so I leave there for present time and begin posting on Australian football. I hope I am treated with respect in Australia.
I attend as many A-League games while I live in southern Earth. Attend everywhere I can. Even New Zealand, I visit there and geologically brilliant. I would like to meet Smithy, show him I am real football fan.
