IMO there are many worthy candidates that are above South as a viable entity to enter the Aleague prior to South seeming South supporters think Heart are unworthy.
These include
Dandy Thunder (Vic) recent champions and always been very strong and much stronger than South since entering the top flight.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles (NSW) too close to WSW but again much superior club and stronger.
Brisbane Strikers (QSL) - champion ex NSL club with no allegiance to ethnic communities.
Thoughts???!??!?

I would be supportive of Dandy joining the A-League and representing the outer SE of Melbourne, provided their bid was strong. It doesn't mean South or anyone else shouldn't be in it too. Each bid should be judged on its merits.

Of the list in the OP only the Strikers can lay claim it has the potential to attract mainstream interest as it did in the final 1997 and without violence.
In a resort somewhere

Dandy Thunder (Vic) recent champions and always been very strong and much stronger than South since entering the top flight. I've no problem with the ethnic background of any club that wants to join the A-league - but Dandy's crowd control record is so bad that they are about to play their first 7 games of the season behind closed doors, have a $45,000 fine to pay and will start the season on -3 points. Couple that with the fact that they don't have a suitable venue for A-league football and you'll see how likely it is they would get in before anyone.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles (NSW) too close to WSW but again much superior club and stronger. Don't know enough about NSW to comment.
Brisbane Strikers (QSL) - champion ex NSL club with no allegiance to ethnic communities. Wouldn't have any issue with the Strikers joining the comp before South... Have they shown any interest since the initial bid?
Thoughts???!??!? I know it's a wind-up, but it's always worth explaining where faults are.
