He'll be welcomed back to prison with open arms, because he's the only guy his cellmates didn't need to force down onto his knees.

WTF is this?
In a real world of justice and retribution we need a guy like Dexter Morgan to properly "resolve the situation"
Speaking of Dexter: how much did Reeva look like Hannah Mckay on that show?
Totally, it's not like he killed some old fat Joberg slum bitch, she was a legit, we need some cool vigilantly shit like in the real world of netflix to make this dumb world right son. Have spoken to the actor who plays Dexter over the phone  at one stage I had access to his private e-mail address, his home address and personal number

BBC wrote:Oscar Pistorius out on probation in August
Oscar Pistorius is set to be released on probation on 21 August, South African prison authorities say, after serving 10 months in jail for shooting dead his girlfriend. The Paralympic star was jailed for five years in 2014 for the culpable homicide of Reeva Steenkamp. Ms Steenkamp's parents have said that the time he has served is "not enough for taking a life". A state appeal against his acquittal on murder charges is due in November.
Under South African law, Pistorius is eligible for release under "correctional supervision" having served a sixth of his sentence. South African Commissioner of Correctional Services Zach Modise told the BBC that the case management committee at the Kgosi Mampuru II prison in Pretoria, where Pistorius is being held, made the recommendation last week. The decision is likely to mean a spell under house arrest for Pistorius.
Murder charge sought The double amputee shot and killed Ms Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door at his Pretoria home, believing she was an intruder, he told his trial. In March a Johannesburg court blocked his legal team's attempts to stop the prosecutors' appeal. State prosecutors say Pistorius should have been found guilty of murder - if convicted he could face a much more lengthy jail term.
Tania Koen, a lawyer for Ms Steenkamp's parents Barry and June, said that while the two had forgiven Pistorius, "ten months is not enough". "It also doesn't send out the proper message and serve as the proper deterrent as the way it should." The decision will reignite a national debate in South Africa about the rule of law, says the BBC's Milton Nkosi. Pistorius was born without the fibulas in both of his legs, and had surgery to amputate both below the knee while still a baby. He went on to become one of South Africa's best-known sports stars, and was the first amputee to compete against able-bodied athletes at the 2012 London Olympics.

Because if there was an intruder, asking who is there makes you very very vulnerable. In a place like South Africa, saying that to an intruder would most likely be your last words. On the shots part, Im not sure on what the legal findings where but I read something about the gun expert making comments about the type of gun and the time between shots being very small. And why shoot 4? I think thats anything from genuine intent to want to kill whoever was there or just plain fear. (thats a bit of heresay though) But it was in a bedroom that he shared with his GF. If you were in the same position wouldn't you first think to check it wasn't your partner ? And the "intruder" was behind a closed door, so the immediate threat was diminished and Oscar had the upper hand. This is the discussion me and my girlfriend were having last night. She's South African herself so she's no surprised by any of this, but regardless of what a fucked up nation it is, if you wake up in the middle of the night and you hear noises in your apartment, wouldn't the first thing to do would be to check if your girlfriend was lying in bed next to you . If she wasn't, you'd surely call out and double check. My GF did point out the same thing as RedKat in that by calling out (if there was a burgler with a firearm) you'd probably wind up a lead blanket yourself, but in a country were personal firearms are more "normal" and routinely kept close to ones side, surely at the very worst you'd pull your gun out, take cover and then call out. Either way, my girlfriend and I both have come to the conclusion that Oscar Pistorious is a mentally deranged individual. To shoot somebody as ridiculously hot as she was, you have to be mad in the head.

Look, I'm almost certain that he intended to murder his girlfriend. However, since there is no way of actually proving that he intended to murder her beyond a reasonable doubt, he cannot be charged with murder.
It sucks, but that's the best way to run a legal system. You can't run it on a system of hunches and what you personally think happened. It's all about evidence and proof, and unfortunately this case is lacking enough of this to justify a murder charge.

You could just argue you were playing around with a gun and didn't realise it was loaded, or even better, blame it on the toilet door. Surely the fact alone he had a gun and it had bullets in it, and he pulled the trigger and the bullets went into Reevas brain and exploded it to bits is evidence? Seems that little fact gets forgetting amidst all the arguments about which way he rolled out of bed or whether his prosthetics somehow made him do it. Which is why he was charged with culpable homicide Which carries a non custodial sentence most of the time..

Lots of men make big romantic gestures on Valentine’s Day. Take Oscar Pistorius, for example. His girlfriend was completely blown away.

He's a very lucky man. I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple of years he's arrested again.
You can't tell me he didn't know he would kill the person by shooting multiple times into a bathroom no bigger then 2mx2m
