The reason I am bringing this up is with the various setups within the NPL structure. We are just talking the top divisions here.

Football NSW has 12 teams 22 game season
Football Queensland has 12 teams 22 game season
Football Federation South Australia has 14 teams game 26 season
Football Federation Tasmania has 8 team 20/21 game season
Capital Football has 8 teams plus AIS who plays only plays the other teams twice but the other teams play each other 3 times to be a 23 game season

Not sure what will happen with northern NSW, Football West and Football Federation Victoria but what do you think should be maximum number for each Premier League?

Should we have 12 teams plus finals?
14 teams plus finals?
straight 14 teams football league?

What should become the normality?

It depends on the state tbh. I don't think you could say one number specifically. It would also depend on their footballing ability.

Also more worried about promo/relegation for Queensland and for Tasmania. Want that to be established as well.

Another question is there really a point anymore to having an Australian Institute of sport team?

Capital Football competition seems compromised having them in their premier leagues version.

Honestly, I am not sure but it does seem rather pointless seeing 9-0 smackings consistently. I guess it is better than a bye though. In all honesty, I hope we see and eventual decline in State institute teams. They do seem rather counter productive from past knowledge. I had a friend in the Victorian side and it went nowhere.

Well Queensland is different due to the location of teams and the cost of travel. A couple of Brisbane clubs outside of the NPl would easily be up to standard while some regional teams in the NPL aren't. So it's a tough one.

I think it's a matter of time and investment. I reckon we need to get the NPL some revenue through TV rights etc. I honestly believe it should be broadcast and be shown on a separate FOX Football channel.

14 teams at least but 26 rounds still doesn't seem like enough games tbh. It must be a real shock to players who move overseas after progressing from state league to A-league and suddenly having to play 10-15 more games in a season.

28, ideally 30.

A number which (1) are viable commercially in a ‘not for profit’ sense (2) provide state-wide pathways for player development and (3) provide sufficient season length to 'dovetail' in with the national football calendar.

State clubs don't owe anything to the Socceroos. They are their own club in their own right.
