High ball ends up over on the far side of the box just inside the byline. Its headed back towards goal and falls to macca on the near post with players all round. He chests it down and turns and smacks it on the volley into the near post upright.
Well played there....Samaras!! GOAL!

Long ball picks out Macca who brings it down with some great control and flicks it wide to Nakamura under pressure from 2 defenders, leaving Naka unmarked. Naka is pretty much on the exact top left corner of the box and slides it across to Samaras who is in acres of space just inside the box and slots it in at the near post

Fuck Mcdonald is a quality player. Just the way he holds up the ball, brings teammates into play and he knows how to give that killer pass.
I hope Pims watching. He looks a bit nervous in front of goal trying to live up to last season but man he oozes class.

Completely agree about Macca. That's why I'm not too concerned with him not scoring for the Aussies yet. The goals will come, but its his teamwork that brings the most to the table, he was superb like that in the first match against Qatar in the Qualifiers.

Yeah. Strikers need to score but if you play him up with someone like kennedy Mcdonald can be the supplier and thn chip in with his own when he gets the chance
Its not like macca has had chances and missed, he just hasnt really had a big chance to score for aus.

Exactly. He's not a lone striker, never will be. He's best when he's in a partnership, working with the other striker. Worked superbly with VoH and Samaras last season. Once he gets that partnership working with Kennedy or whoever else for Aus, he'll be a great player.
