More professional highlights of Logan Village v Tarragindi should be available shortly. If anyone from other states know of any local highlights packages please post them! Good in parts.

Does anyone know if the Second Regional Round (with 4 in each zone) is drawn, or do they play according to their order on the First Round fixture? In other words, will it be USQ vs Willowburn and Nanango vs Gatton? The page doesn't seem to be clear on that.

Some high quality coverage here of Logan Village v Tarragindi Tigers, two of the lowest teams in the Brisbane football pyramid.

The decision on who will represent Capital Football in the FFA Cup was supposedly happening today. Anyone heard anything?

There's a few forfeits in Victoria's Dockerty Cup according to this: http://www.foxsportspulse.com/comp_info.cgi?c=1-8746-0-295939-0&a=ROUNDQuote:Round 1 Ringwood City FC def. by Melton Phoenix FC (forfeit) Kyneton District SC def. Endeavour Hills SC (forfeit) Whitehorse United SC def. by Light United SC (forfeit) Melbourne Tornado SC def. by Boroondara Eagles FC (forfeit)
Round 2 North Caulfield Senior FC def. Yarraville FC (forfeit)
Disappointing that some clubs clearly don't take it very seriously.

This one also slipped under the radar. Must have been played over the weekend: Townsville Brothers 3 - 1 MA Olympic http://www.footballqueensland.com.au/fileadmin/user_upload/Documents/Temporary_Documents/FQ_Cup_Draw_and_Results_as_at18-02-2014.pdf

Not a bad game. MA Olympic took an early lead before Brothers settled into the game and equalised through former Northern Fury player Jake Navarro. Brothers seemed to enjoy majority of possession and created more chances but finished 1-1 at full time. Olympics seemed to struggle with tired legs and we're eventually overrun 3 - 1. Brothers now take on Saints Eagles Souths and would be favourites to progress further.

It's a little quiet on the Tuggeranong front, not a whisper about it on social media.

Quote: Canale Travel Cup - Rd1 Round Up 19.02.2014 It may be the middle of February and it may still be steaming hot - but for the Capital League 4, 3 and a handful of Capital League 2 sides, the season began in vigour with the first round of the Canale Travel Cup and the beginning of what could be a fairytale story with the a possible berth in the FFA Cup up for grabs for the two finalists. It will take something for one of the lower division clubs to make it to the dizzy heights of a possible encounter with an A-League opponent, but it's not a complete impossibility and that dream begun at the weekend with 28 teams battling it out in Round 1. Capital League 2 Kangaroo Point Rovers were one of last season's surprise package from CL3, knocking out BPL side North Star before just being edged out by Capalaba in the quarter finals. They started their campaign at home to Bethania Rams. Despite being favourites to go through, they were given a stern test on a hot afternoon. Eventually winning the tie 2-1. They'll face last seasons rivals and grand final opponents Redcliffe PCYC in round 2 after they comfortably brushed aside CL4 side Bardon Latrobe 5-0. The very first game of the season however, was a non-event with Acacia Ridge forced to forfeit their tie away at Samford Rangers. There were a number of big score lines, non more so than Capital League 3 Toowong's 14-0 thrashing of Capital League 4 side Mooroondu. Ben Janes getting into the scoring stakes early with 7 of the hosts goals and despite Toowong having Anthony Cox sent off deep in injury time. Peter Mulvey of Oxley United takes notoriety though for being the first player dismissed in 2014. His side though still comfortably defeated Ridge Hills United 5-2. Ben Clarke netting a hat trick for Oxley. Two sides that passed each other in opposite directions in Capital League 3 & 4 were Greenbank and Logan City Kings. Kings coming away with a 5-1 triumph over the relegated Greenbank. There was one 'shock' with AC Carina from Capital League 3, knocking out Capital League 2 side Newmarket in a 3-0 success. For Newmarket, it's 2 years running that a lower division side has sent them packing with Logan Village Falcons dumping them out in 2013 whilst tow divisions below them. The Falcons got the better of fellow Capital League 4 side Tarragindi 1-0 in a tightly contested cup tie and face Centenary Stormers in the next round after they perhaps surprisingly defeated Westside 4-0 away. Newly promoted New Farm United who took on Wolves FC in last season's competition, had to play their home game away to Jimboomba United. It too was a close encounter with Jimboomba narrowly making it through to round 2 with a 2-1 win. Two ties remain unresolved with Virginia United hosting Brighton Bulldogs this evening and The Lakes facing Park Ridge on Saturday with their game now switched to Narangba Sporting Complex for a 5pm kick-off. Round 2 is due to be played in the first week of March and we'll provide a preview when it gets close.
