Not big jumps by any stretch, club websites are usually more up to date as expected.
Unsure what to do with CCM numbers.... inclined to take FFA over club there....
Will pass last seasons starting total by the end of the week, one more victory update will almost cover it.

In other sports, Brisbane teams are generally shite so if a good Brisbane sport's team comes around, people would definitely jump on board. No surprise on Brisbane's membership tally.

If Jets get to 8k members I'll eat my hat
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

The dugouts they are talking about are portable curved polycarbonate units so no preparatory work is required. When I was renewing my membership a Roar official told me ,they were eliminating some seats so there would be less Platinum seats. This was an incentive to lock in seats early.

Heads up - though I presume some may've noticed? The A-League Official Site tally has had it's weekly update today. I have trouble posting the image, but here's the link! http://www.a-league.com.au/Edit, seems they have an article/press release for every time they update/round up the latest tally? Here's their update summary: http://www.a-league.com.au/article/roar-the-big-movers-in-membership-race/1iae798jfx7n1gw6h6cyqh7waEdited by GloryPerth: 17/9/2014 07:25:04 PM

Believe it or not but the a-league site is actually constantly out of date. Even with today's update, for most clubs that provide their figures on their membership pages, have higher figures than what gets put up on the a-league site. Eg Sydney FC, City, Jets and Wanderers.

Roar have been brilliant for the last 4 seasons and only now that they've got the pricing and repayments schedule just right have they cracked 10k members. Just being a great football team is no guarantee of increased membership sales. You'd think it would be but it's not a concrete correlation.

You are right Davo, but sympathies with FFA - their update not a ticker like the clubs you mentioned, plus, like us, they have to rely on the weekly update from the less frequent updates/those who increase by less. Atleast there's a regular, reliable, update covering all the clubs now. But same time, we can have our obscure pre-season distraction/joy maintained via the more up-to-date figures from those individual clubs. :p IF All the clubs had the tickers on their pages, or had the kind of rates of increase that warranted tickers (Clearly, understandably, Glory and Phoenix don't, it's clear now?), then A-League.com.au's update would be obsolete. Flipside if the A-League site's figures were soo up to date, then our own tally's would become obsolete too. :o :p So our tally's are the perfect third way - unifying them all! vanbasten88 wrote:letsgofuckingmental wrote:In other sports, Brisbane teams are generally shite so if a good Brisbane sport's team comes around, people would definitely jump on board. Just being a great football team is no guarantee of increased membership sales. You'd think it would be but it's not a concrete correlation. As per usual it's not b/w and it's a combination of factors. The success and stable presence the last few seasons have re-built up the club's reputation - their attractive product on the park and ever more attractive brand off it, perhaps, due to the former. Their memberships nor crowds have not just surged over-night - though the relative increase is certainly a jump, they hit a record high of 8k or so last season, on the back of a campaign towards 10k members. And IIRC they hit a record high number of members the season before then too (6k something). So memberships have been tracking upwards last few seasons and especially the last couple. Their crowds too have been steadily growing since that temporary drop (Rise in memberships etc) and the resurgence since Ange era. Crowds have again been steadily upward past few seasons and IIRC, the last three have been 13k, 13k and 15k average! So while they have indeed implemented some good initiatives for this season, it's still been on the back of a strong upward trend in growth. And that's what's soo pleasing - it's not a temporary boon, fad or whatever - it's following a trend and the rate has just increased due to better administrative, payment access measures tweaks etc.. as too it seems strategic focus on memberships going back to the last two seasons again. It's clearly more of a priority now, especially when you contrast to some other clubs and even Roar's earlier self - it's when you contrast that you really see the difference. Not too different from how Roar's $10kfor10k campaign (Every thousandth member would win $1k, the 7k member won a Spa bath!) kicked in last season, to lift them to a record 8k members or so! ;) FYI That's not a dig, these are just good examples of positive stimulus/gimmicks, to get the word-of-mouth, buzz out there and greater interest and commitment to signing on the dotted line. Not ONLY will you become a member, but you will be into the draw to win something!! We're Aussies and we're suckers for this sort of thing! :p How many enter the Lotto every year? This way, you get something, the membership, and the odds are much higher with a smaller pool - win-win for those inclined this way?! :o :p Edited by GloryPerth: 19/9/2014 04:59:25 PM
