Wow. That's some really poor officiating from the assistant and the ref there. He should have realised it was a goal kick and just waved him down. Imagine if that came at the end of the game with scores locked.

It showcases everything i like about lower tier football.
Boutique grounds that let you get close enough to the action to here everything the players and coaches are saying.
The fact that there are young and talented players (who clearly have a lot of potential) getting shown up by the touch, vision and intelligence of that one older veteran who just seems to walk the whole game and yet controls the match.
The sheer unpredictability of the matches due to the fact that they are amateurs.

Watched a spirited State League 2 game yesterday.
Good crowd at Northbridge Oval considering the chill factor.
1st place Hakoah vsing 2nd place Northbridge.
Game of 2 halves - Bridge were on the game 1st half and looking impressive HT was 1nil.
2nd half the game got more agressive bridge suffering 2 injuries, this in turn changed the rythem as it does and Hakoah split them open to equalise, bridge followed up 2-1 up then some great hakoah play got them level - Hakoah again split them open and well taken goal giving them a deserved 3-2 win.
Entertaining spirited game as mentioned.
