Geez, most of the fixtures happen within an hours drive of the away teams home ground. Unless more regional teams enter why bother, you may as well get rid of the weak teams instead of parachuting them in later so the can get thumped by some npl/sl1 team

Oh wait we're dealing with "the select few" here, the guy that thinks walking to toilet is an epic journey that requires 2 overnight stops and a team of sherpas.

This is what I expected to happen.

Victoria can pull it off though.
I guess for these rounds its almost better (more fun) to be the away team. It will be fun for the boys to go to the country and vice versa to the city. Instead of playing teams they always play. Promotes a wider football community too.

Yep its pretty shitty

7 hour round trip I'd probably just stay the night up there if we copped a fixture like that.

RDSA will use his centrelink payments to cover the accomo. For the rest of us that work though...

These rounds are played on weekends. Our game is on Sat 14th.

But I suppose they had no choice. Its not like they can boot Cobram from the comp because no club within 100ks was available to play them

Do they regionalize the early rounds in NSW? Could you get a club from Western Sydney needing to travel to say Albury?

They didn't last year, from memory the furthest west team was Bathurst (a couple of hours from Sydney), Wollongong in the south and central coast to the north (NNSW takes any further north which is regionalised)

This year there is a state league team from Griffith which will more than likely play in FFA cup.

Also looks like FNSW havent capped the number of teams as they have created extra rounds for pre lims depending on the number of applicants. Good times.

The stream is now available for the SNSW draw of the opening rounds:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm0mwBlAzQ8

As you can see, it doesn't start for another 6 days and 17 hours, but this is the only notice of the draw date I could find on the FNSW site. So keep an eye on that around midday next Thursday.

Please, Cobram isn't that far, 3-4 hours is manageable. When I played in Scotland, these kinds of travel times could be fairly common and as long as the game kicked off at 3pm Saturday it wasn't really a problem. My club in East Glasgow got stung twice with cup trips to the highlands. Fort William took 3 and a half hours and another to around Dingwall (where Ross County play) which takes around 4.

Easy peasy.
