There could even be more freedom of movement between the UK (or the Kingdom of England, soon) and Australia/Canada/NZ etc. now, so that's one silver lining.

Who cares, shut the Tunnel and let them sort it out amongst themselves

Short term:
- probably a new Prime Minister for Britain
- probably a recession
- a two-year, messy process of actually leaving the EU
- Resurgence in support for eurosceptic parties in other EU countries

Long term:
- Britain gets fucked over in its trade agreements with European countries
- London is no longer the continent's financial hub / FDI in Britain declines
- Britain becomes increasingly irrelevant and loses a huge amount of geopolitical power
- Scotland probably leaves Britain
- Collapse in support for eurosceptic parties in other EU countries when people see how fucked Britain is

It's not the end of the world (for anyone), but Britain really has shot itself in the foot.

The EU has been paradise. Hardly a stupid decision. Try and tell that to the majority of british people.
