A striker is just so, so necessary for them. Maybe a younger CB to put some pressure on Dura and Sigmund wouldn't hurt either. Despite being the longest standing pair in the comp, you'd have to say they're not getting any younger, and I thought Sigmund looked quite poor late last season. Loosing Boxall in the offseason was a real loss for us, and strangely - despite having only two aging CB's on our books - we have been playing with a back three over the pre-season. Interesting... Back three of who?

We've had quite a few players come and go in pre season with national duty for our young players (the disasterous olympic qualifiers), the hong kong soccer sevens tournament, the trip to Fiji, etc. But its been Sigmund, Durante, and either Muscat or Gulley.
Ernies formations tend to be very fluid though.

But really though, my money is on Jeffrey Sarpong. I'm basically willing this into existence because he's friends with Roly on twitter.

Edited by Bozza1#: 12/8/2015 01:59:19 PM Sarpong is not a striker. He's an attacking midfielder who hasn't scored many goals at all.

Yep, what Ernie said is that all the strikers we've looked at have wanted a mill or more so he's looking for a player that has the skills to fit in with the team and who he can convert into a goal scoring player. This guy has a pretty bad ratio though.

Edited by ryanm: 12/8/2015 05:58:32 PM Are you a copper with enforcement powers for this website? If no, then I suggest you shut up and be nicer to me. The thing is this, you and your friends are like anoying flies that buzz around whenever the Phoenix are mentioned (You'll be happy with the analogy because it essentially refers to the Phoenix as shit). It's tedious. We know what you think so its pointless saying it again, unless your intention is to be obnoxious.

They certainly need a good striker, without a suitable replacement for Burns they may struggle to make top 6 - each HAL season normally has one or two from the previous top 4 struggling to repeat their previous seasons form, assuming Victory and the Smurfs stay up there that puts Nix and Adelaide in the frame, both have had significant losses
