Maybd think again about your membership? if anyone is going to get us out of this mess it's the players and the fans, but fans at home don't help none ! Will still go to most games. This shit reminds me of the GCU days when we went from poor but not embarrassing crowds of 6k-ish to sub-2k. You can't blame people for not wanting to be a part of the circus.
Shame that these egg heads are ruining the game for some of their most loyal fans (it was hard to put aside my roar hatred).
Piss poor management all round.

Who came down to represent the bakries? Was it the owner themselves or someone representing the owner? I am just struggling to see how blind so many people are as to the root of the problems at roar (those at ffa I mean)

Are the Roar fans the worst in the country. CCM have nothing to cheer about their owner has sold the family silver and tried to move them to North Sydney for cash. Jets haven;t made the final series for years, the FFA hasn't given them even a single marquee.

For real, every team needs a stadium with a 30k maximum cap. WSW have shown how an atmosphere can be created in a smaller stadium. It's so much better to have a smaller, full stadium than a bigger, half empty one.

That's the problem, massive empty stadium that costs an arm and a leg. Not sustainable for the club. Not a good look on TV.

Quote:THE “new” Brisbane Roar is coming. That was the promise from club owners, Indonesian conglomerate, the Bakrie Group at a fiery members’ forum on Wednesday night at Milton.
Angry members and fans who have refused to renew memberships due to the Bakries’ retention of the club’s licence vented their fury at a panel that included A-League boss Damien de Bohun, interim Roar CEO David Pourre, Fox Sports expert Mark Bosnich and Bakrie Group representatives Rahim Soekasah and Demis Djamaoeddin.
Soekasah and Djamaoeddin reiterated the Bakrie’s intention to retain hold of the club, clear the Roar’s debts and restore the three-time A-League champions to their former glory on and off the field.
“A clear instruction from the owner (Nirwan Bakrie) – he is fully committed to bring the new Brisbane Roar,” Djamaoeddin said.
“We found there was a problem with the club … I do believe that Brisbane Roar can do better in the future.”
De Bohun promised that the Bakries will have made all their outstanding payments, which added up to millions of dollars, by January.
“We have set out very clear expectations. They have met major obligations in the last few weeks,” de Bohun said.
“If obligations are not met, we will move (to strip the Bakries of their licence).
“They have put millions and millions of dollars into this club ... they have demonstrated they will meet their obligations.
“Everything will be cleaned up by January.”
However, the lack of trust fans have in the owners and Football Federation Australia was clearly evident on more than one occasion.
There were also complaints about the club’s lack of presence in the community.
Bosnich was adamant Roar players needed to change that situation.
“They’ve got to get out there with them (the fans),” Bosnich said.
Soekasah and Djamaoeddin addressed the Roar squad yesterday and also met with Brisbane coach John Aloisi.
“They (the players) do have some certainty around what the plan is for the first time,” de Bohun said.
Pourre promised a fan day before Christmas as well as another forum with coach John Aloisi – who was absent last night for family reasons – as early as next week.
“John will articulate what he wants to do and how he wants to do it,” Pourre said.

FFA have been garnishing TV money to pay off the License Fee ?
No wonder they didn't strip the license when there wasn't enough to pay players

In addition to the fans smashing the ffa for not acting on this situation they also lashed the FFA for being a contributing factor. And they were, but perhaps in their defence, how were they to know incompetent managers would be steering the ship? So along with the ffa effectively garnishing money before it arrived the ATO were also garnishing the same money as soon as it arrived in the bank accounts - poor sods never stood a chance, hence the sudden downfall in May. It must have been like a financial sinkhole opening up!
