winners for these two matches qualify for 2016 Westfield FFA Cup round of 32. I will be at the Sunshine Coast when the r32 is played, so I am hoping for Fire. From the interview after the Apollo GCC game, their manager says they have a few guys who were playing NPL last year. Obviously an A-League team would be good. Not sure I would want BR though. AU, WSW or MC ..... could all probably generate some kind of a crowd I would imagine.

Can't believe Fury are out. Well done to Heat though.
Heat and Fire would be great FFA Cup entrants. Both have put forward ambitions to be in the A-League.

If they cant committ week in and week out let alone a Cup match against our fucking Derby rivals then they can fuck off. -PB

Great to see my old club North Armidale into the last 8 of the NNSW qualification. I don't expect them to go any further against the NPL clubs though.

The 3 months before and after New Years people tend do have their Xmas Parties and functions. Throw in the mix things like Australia Day and ANZAC Day, it's not until May that things start calming down. Could by boss have done it sooner, absolutely. But I'm still not turning down a day of free piss and hospo shennanigans...

randomised draw bitches!!! Nope, read again. The 'revamp' has almost no impact on the structure of the cup. Literally the only change I can see is that the A-League clubs are now in a single pot for the Round of 32 instead of giving the top four a guaranteed easy game. There are still four A-League teams to be drawn against non-A-League. There are still three A-League vs A-League in the first round. There is still a guaranteed path to the semi-finals for one non-A-League club.

Keen to going for a run around Lakeside (Y) What do you mean by 'randomised draw' then? Unless I'm missing something, there is literally one small change that only impacts the Round of 32, and that change only impacts the A-League clubs. Everything else is the same as last year.

Would love an open draw at the round of 32 or 64 would be even better. A lot of quality clubs are missing out due to bad luck of the draw.

I guess the main benefit of the new draw system, is that the weaker A-League clubs can face Federation clubs in the Rd of 32, and therefore a greater chance of an upset. Rather than the weakest A-league clubs being knocked out by other A-league clubs first up.

I agree it's a small step in the right direction, but it really makes no difference. I'd prefer to see a completely open draw.
