I think this is a great opportunity for the FFA to start up streaming on FFA TV. There is clear interest and they could get 10 bucks a month subscription and show games like this. I feel trapped, at times, with these ideas but I am certain I'm not the only one that's thought of this.

It can be part of the NPL licence with funds going back into local clubs.

I'd support this all the way.

Plus it gives them more stats and figures when it comes to presenting football's 'status' to broadcasters.

Personally I still hope they can get a tv deal that gives a r44 then eventual 22 winner to enter with 10 A-League (adjusting numbers when/if expansion ever happens).

It is a massive extra cost though. At the moment there are 31 matches and that would add 22 more matches. I would prefer to see this then say, prize money. You would get many more teams from certain areas (Sydney & Melbourne) but could allocate more strategic spots too.

The first three r32 will all start around July 29

FOX SPORTS Coverage
The FOX SPORTS broadcast schedule will consist of 11 LIVE full broadcast matches and coverage of all other 20 matches from the Round of 32.
Round of 32 will feature 16 matches across four match days. FOX SPORTS is committed to broadcasting four of the matches LIVE with cameras at the other 12 matches.
Round of 16 will feature eight matches across two match days – two LIVE full broadcast with cameras at the six other matches.
Quarter Finals will feature four matches across two match days – two LIVE full broadcast with cameras at the other two matches.
Semi Finals will feature two matches across two days, both broadcast LIVE.
The Westfield FFA Cup Final 2016 will be broadcast LIVE.

I would like to see 4 more match days in a r44. It would mean the tournament could have started or be starting very soon. As everything .... it down to Westfield.

Against an Ro44 with a 10 teams comp. BeIN has proven it can be done with a simple shooter and then beamed across screens. In fact, the OFC proved it too. We have more than appropriate facilities.

The other option would be to have 3-4 match days for the r44 (qr7) that exists now. Allocate 5-7 games per match day from different or the same states and have a Foxtel update show. Just going around the grounds on the one camera with updates on goals. Make them do some work and gather information about the clubs. You get the picture.

No reason why you could not stream all 21 games and, if the FFA had control, they could play them over different days to maximise viewing.

I think Foxtel coverage would get more views. Even for a update show.

I would like to see something like this (no need for correspondents though). Match scores along the bottom. Teams and their previous victories in the cup and NPL table.

This would not let you watch more matches via stream. You would get shoot outs and such though. I just find people wont be too interest in watching 21 NPL games. Maybe if there are big clashes in Melbourne and Sydney, and perhaps the Adelaide spot but I think it is limited. Foxtel need to get some content for their cash.

Zappa, Ned and Bozza.

You would have to iron out some problems though. Perhaps stagger ko times in case you have 2 shootouts at the same time. Although that wouldnt be the end of the world either. They could just not show you the results from the other games. So they show you one shootout then cut to a replay of the second shootout etc.
If only 1 game goes to extra time screen that at the end.

Hour gap between games will do it. You have three, possibly four timezones. Foxtel couldn't complain about lack of content.

The Shamrock Rovers fairytale continues after dramatic FFA Cup win over Darwin Olympic
an hour ago
GREY MORRISNT News

FFA Cup qualifier: Shamrock Rovers’ John Drohan and Olympic opponent Matt Goodwin race for the ball
SHAMROCK Rovers manager Jimmy Culligan has rated his side’s FFA Cup penalty shootout win over Darwin Olympic the greatest game of football he ever saw.

The 30-year-old Irishman has watched the World Game all over Europe and been enchanted with the skills of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona.

But the 7-6 shootout win over Territory soccer giants Olympic, combined with several heart-stopping moments and brilliant goals in the 120 minutes of normal playing time, make Wednesday night’s game the best of the best.

More importantly, the Rovers advanced to the NT qualifier against Alice Springs club Scorpions on Saturday, June 18 for the right to represent Territory soccer in the FFA Cup round of 32.

“Throw Arsenal and Liverpool in there as well, I’ve never seen a better game of football in my life and I’m not just saying that because I’m part of this club,’’ Culligan told the NT News.

“It was an amazing game of football that had absolutely everything and for Carl (Marshall) to score deep into injury time when it looked like we were dead and beaten was unbelievable.’’

Other Stories

The Rovers were 2-0 down with only four minutes of normal time and injury time to play when strikes by Dean Molloy and Marshall took the game into extra time.

Goalkeeper Matt Ashton’s man-of-the-match performance in pulling off a series of great saves, including Jack Steer’s decisive penalty miss, was crucial in the final result.

“I think the character in this team is stronger than anything I’ve seen before, especially when we’re a group of friends having a kick around on the pitch and that’s what really counts,’’ Culligan said post match.

“Now we start the hard work before the qualifying final and the recuperation, which is the main thing with so many sore legs in the team.

“I’m so proud of them, it was an amazing effort by everyone.’’

Olympic’s assistant manager Wayne Bodkin was still getting his head around the loss when contacted by the NT News almost a day after the night of drama.

“I’m not sure what happened, a lack of concentration, tired minds and a class goal by Marshall, the leading goal scorer in the competition who you expect to take half chances,’’ Bodkin said.

“But the main issue for us was not taking our chances, we should have been three or four up at halftime and game over.

“But it wasn’t to be and we’ll have to live with that. Good luck to the Rovers in the qualifying final, we’ll certainly be there supporting them on the night.’’
