i'm tipping that Devonport City's home ties from round of 32 onwards will be played 100% for sure at Aurora Stadium in Launceston.

If so that it an absolute disgrace.

If it is at an oval, hopefully people will turn out for it. Especially if they get an A-League team. It might be the only pro football match played in north Tas for some time.

Would it be safe to say Devonport would be the smallest city ever represented in the final 32? With a population of 25,000. This could be beaten if Cooma Tigers progress to the final 32 with a population of just over 5000.

Bentleigh V South is virtually like a R32 Cup match.

Just had a quick look on google and it's quiet a nice oval.
Facilities wise it will pass but it's all going to come down to the grounds lighting.
The government website even said its $100 per match to hire out

It would be awesome for the magic of the cup if they were able to get a home tie.

The lights at Devonport Oval should be good enough for a match against an NPL team but not sure about an A-League club. They play night games there in the Tasmanian Aussie Rules State League so that would be the equivalent of NPL.

They're on top of NPLACT so I guess they are favourites, I can't understand how they are so competitive, coming from a small town with what I assume is a small selection of players, someone down there must be doing good things with their club.

Yep. I've already been racking my brains whether to use NSW or ACT flag when I update the wiki page...

Both? I'll have to put them in the ACT qualifying if they do get through, but tempted to put them in the NSW qualifiers for giggles.

The ACT is just rural NSW anyway. :lol:

They did alright last year in qualifying IIRC, and they've traditionally been fairly strong in the ACT leagues over the years.

Would be interesting to see how'd they'd fair in the NSW NPLs. I daresay a few teams would struggle with the distance and I reckon Cooma gets pretty cold at night, but if Wagga Wagga and Bathurst can play in the NPLs, can't see why they couldn't.

I'm leaning toward a NSW flag. Because the team is based there, which makes more sense than the league they're in.

Otherwise, by the same logic, Wellington would have an Australian flag next to their name. :-k
