Worst: Going to get lunch from the fish and chips at 11:45 before I could start work at 12:30 today. They told me it would be 10 minutes, didn't get out of there until 12:25, and at least a 10 minute drive from work, so I was worried I was going to be late, and that there would be line ups to print photos and stuff today.

Best: even though I was rostered for 12:30, store didn't open until 1, so it didn't matter too much. Didn't get to eat my fish and chips until 4 though :(

If you're working hospitality your start time is your start time but your finishing time is a guide, not gospel. If you work more then shit happens. To be perfectly honest you probably should have anticipated that it was going to be a longer shift being that it's the eve of a public holiday. It would have been good of your boss to give you a heads up that he was planning on staying open longer but shit happens. Plus when you're getting penalty rates and Sunday rates you've got no right to complain when majority of the industry don't.

Yeah, that's pretty ordinary by your boss. You sure Fosters is a reward for anything though? I wouldn't use it as a door stop.

Worst: Working on 'Straya Day

Next Worst: None of the staff, including me, were told that trading hours were being extended from 10pm until Midnight tonight for Australia Day. My boss didn't even send a text message, let alone an email, or even a note behind the bar. All staff, inc. my manager showed up to work tonight, thinking it'd be a normal Sunday shift to finish @ 10pm, instead we're told we're finishing at midnight, once we've gotten to work. Yeah, I know it's only an extra 2 hours, and it's Sunday pay-rates (plus public holiday rates, since I didn't 'sign out' untill about 12:45am), but that's an absoloute dick move on my bosses behalf. At the very least. he should have the courtesy - fuck that actually, I'm fairly sure it's out rights as workers to be told if trading hours are going to be extended, it's not cool to expect staff to show up thinking they're finishing at a certain time, only to be told it's not going to work like that.

Best: Turns out I passed 2/3 of my Uni subjects for last semester.

Worst: Losing the cricket by 15 runs. Despite the obvious flaws in our batting lineup, the innings by Agar in the first innings, and Haddin in the second showed that true Aussie spirit fighting hard.
Worst: The fact I missed out on passing this semester 3/3 by a mere 8 marks. I gave up on a unit half way through semester due to the tutor being an A-Grade dick.

Best: getting a girl I really rate.
Worst: having to shit 6 times today. I need to that that checked.

Worst:Being out of work and going through the job seeking process.

Best:Having time to teach the dogs new tricks.

Worst: being at work on a public holiday

Best: being paid double time and a half to be at work on a public holiday

Worst: Have to move out tomorrow so last minute packing before the big stuff.

For the other day:

Best: Got through to the next round of a recruitment process of a job I applied for. (About fucking time I got some interest back after the large volume of applications I've done. The time spent + rejections were really starting to do my head in).

Worst: It's not even an interview, it's some activity day where they observe your 'teamwork' and all that stuff, with the best ones progressing to an interview. 40 people will be at this 'activity day', such a low percentage chance of getting the job.

Worst: Economy flight to Melbourne this morning.

Best: Yet to come tonight!
