For someone who doesn't like socialism, I don't know why you are planning to go to Greece.

You do realise that the governing party in Greece, Syriza, is a self proclaimed "radical leftist" party?

The official party colours are red (left-wing politics), green (green politics), and purple (social movements).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syriza

Their platform includes the following:

- Raise income tax to 75% for all incomes over 500,000 euros.
- Abolition of financial privileges for the Church and shipbuilding industry
- Cut drastically military expenditures
- Increase of subsidies for the unemployed. Increase social protection for one-parent families, the aged, disabled, and families with no income
- Nationalisation of banks.
- Nationalisation of ex-public (service & utilities) companies in strategic sectors for the growth of the country (railroads, airports, mail, water).
- Demilitarisation of the Coast Guard and anti-insurrectional special troops.
- Prohibition for police to wear masks or use fire arms during demonstrations. - Change training courses for police so as to underline social themes such as immigration, drugs and social factors

So yeah, enjoy your souvla and dolmades in that capitalist paradise you want to escape to, which is governed by a party which is further to the left than even the Greens in Australia are!!!!

And that has something to do with Greece or Europe!

I think you will find Greece has been doing all it can and has gone over and beyond.

But we are talking about an Ancient Civilization here, not some racist German EU Huns like Juncker and Seargeant Shultz!

The Souvla will taste real good bro and if I find any Syrians, they can join in and share some of my Souvla!

Greece has a socialist government. It is not a socialist country.

No PC, gay marriage equality and certainly no bullshit like in Australia.

Low tax environment, and you can do virtually whatever you want.

Everything is pretty cheap and our old age pensioners eat Souvla and not fat food bro! They can also afford to heat and cool their homes!

It's only "low-tax" because of widespread tax avoidance!

Greece taxation as a percentage of GDP is 30%. Australia is 25.8%

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_tax_revenue_as_percentage_of_GDP

"No gay marriage equality" you say.... Greece allows same-sex couples to have all the same rights as married couples, bar adoption

Greece recognizes same-sex unions by allowing same-sex couples to enter into cohabitation agreements since 24 December 2015. A bill allowing such unions was approved by the Hellenic Parliament on 23 December 2015 and published in the government gazette the following day.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recognition_of_same-sex_unions_in_Greece

"No PC" you say.... Harder to disprove, so I can't quite eviscerate you on this point like I have with everything else you have said.

Enjoy your beach souva!

The guy has a Greek thing in his sig Azza, you don't know shit bruh!

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Actually no! You are very ignorant.

Tax avoidance is impossible for workers.

As far as contractors, tradespeople, builders, accountants and other services, there is an element of tax avoidance as there is in every other country including Australia, but I wouldn't say the practice is more widespread in Greece than it is in Australia.

Greece was being defamed, by making erroneous claims of widespread tax avoidance to justify austerity against the poor primarily. The rich always get away with it and are immune to austerity.

I'm talking about income taxes, council rates, corporate taxes, electricity, and other charges which are far far more cheaper than Australia.

Yes Greece will never allow same sex adoption EVER! Nor will they bastardize children with "safe Schools" EVER.

In Greece, the university elites are not in charge. Whenever they pipe up, they are told to shut the f@&k up because they never left school all their lives.

In Greece, the military is in charge! They call the shots and everyone has to fall in line or else. :d

Yes I will enjoy my Souvla!

But where? Corfu, Parga, Lefkada, or Limeni?

Oh btw, Syriza only got in on their Euroskepticism platform.

Their website can say whatever it likes, but it is what they put into practice that matters.

And they are less Socialist than the ALP, by all accounts from what they have achieved so far. And they are quite liable to be voted out in the next elections. The point is, Greece is not a Socialist Country and Syriza have buckleys chance of introducing any the above mentioned measures.

First of all, the Coast Guard and military exist in all its glory. I would like them to even try to touch the military. The Tanks will come crashing through Parliament house and Syriza would be out on its arse in a military prison!

They are in charge and Tsipras will toe the line.

The police still have gas masks, and full riot gear - no change there either.

Banks have not been nationalised - no change there. In fact, they had an opportunity to withdraw from the Eurozone which would have allowed them to reform their own Central Bank, but they idiots didn't even do that.

Oh and all public utilities and government services are being privatized - Greece was forced into it by the IMF/ECB

Doesn't seem to be working out champ!

Could it be that Syriza actually know that their Socialist agenda is all bollocks? They must do right?

I didnt want to laugh Iswear.

Souvla is good but still the Turks do kebab best i think. And in central China too, they use big chunks of meat like in Cyprus but with more chilli and spices, dont need any pita =p~ =p~ =p~

But I dont understand how people who know other countries can be so critical of Australia! I think maybe the grass is all always greener. Anyway I have no time for them.

Only in Australia my friend! Only in Australia!

One day, Aussies will wake up at how fucked up their country really is.

Downward spiral anyone?

no downward spiral here.........prefer not to meet you on the way down

I will be in Greece when you're on your downward spiral mate!

Eating Souvla and Dolmades on the beach whilst you eat cat food!

do us a favor and stay there.......then all we have to do is get the moderators to ban you and life will be great....

With pleasure champ!

I will be thinking of you too! I'm just a pretty caring guy and willing to share my Souvla with anyone.

You are welcome to stay over if you are ever lucky enough to visit Greece. Do yourself a favour and take up the offer, because life is too precious my friend to waste away in Oz!

You're just a number in Australia. No one cares whether you're eating sardines from a can.
