Could have been a lot better but also could have been a lot worse. Such a disappointing 2nd half after how we finished the 2nd to just gift them a goal back. Was nice of Ox to choose this game to have an Eboue like performance off the bench. Now for United away after the international break which we'll probably predictably lose lol

The Ozil CL goal was sheer class ! I bow to his genius.

I wished my son luck as headed into town to watch his s*urs against you guys - I called a draw.

I expect your right, the next game at trafford will for sure be challenging, id sooner you do lose purely that your closer to us but there's a thing in me that hopes you make them suffer !
A draw would be great !! :)

I'm sure they are going to be up for it but seriously you guys should take them out I feel.
In saying that I'm in 2 minds, hate seeing the mancs get up but at the same time a win to you guys keeps you closer to us so a DRAW please and injuries :)

Cheeez you guys are optimistic NOT.
You've been playing better than them for weeks, your touted as a contender of late not that that means a lot atm to any of us.
united have been ordinary, ok so your throwing caution to the wind but.........

All of that means literally nothing when it comes to us playing United at Old Trafford. They could be bottom of the table without a goal or a win and they'd still beat us at OT.

We've won 3 times in 24 games at Old Trafford since the beginning of the premier league. It's kind of hard not to accept that as the norm lol. On top of all that it's also Mourinho who we have never beaten in a game that matters.

Put $10 on Manure to spank us 6-1, paying $501 odds. Easy money if you ask me. Old Trafford, Jose - there is no way this won't be an embarrassment. I've promised myself I won't bring myself to watch it, the one game of the year I refuse to watch, but hearing that it's the early Saturday game I bet I'll be enticed

I'll happily admit I was confident he'd be at Barca by now. Outstanding that he seemingly is so happy here and wants to stay for a long time.

Arsenal inspiring Sydney FC's Hyundai A-League run – Football Australia (press release)

Inspired by Arsenal’s unbeaten season in the 2003/4 English Premier League season, Sydney FC star Josh Brillante says the Sky Blues have set their sights on becoming the Hyundai A-League version of ‘The Invincibles’.

Arsenal famously surged to the English Premier League title without losing a single match in the 2003/04 season.

Under the guidance of Arsene Wenger and with stars like Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp and Robert Pires, the Gunners won 26 and drew 12 of their 38 league matches.

Hyundai A-League stars pushing for Caltex Socceroos selection

And while it’s still early, Graham Arnold’s Sky Blues are on course for their own unbeaten campaign after an incredible start to Hyundai A-League 2016/17 Season.

Saturday night’s 1-1 draw against Brisbane Roar was the first time in seven rounds Sydney has failed to pick-up maximum points.

Brillante admitted the squad has their sights on replicating the feats of Arsenal by going through the entire season without defeat.

“We’ve been watching some of their [Arsenal] clips and talking about them and what they did as a club and why they were so successful,” Brillante told www.a-league.com.au.

“So far we’ve been on the run we are and it’s definitely been brought up. There’s no reason why we can’t do it.

“We were talking about [that Arsenal team] before the season even started.”

One of the Sky Blues’ club partnerships is with company XVenture, who specialise in working with top-level clubs and athletes around developing closer connections between players and team success.

Brillante said it was during these sessions with the company’s CEO Mike Conway, that the Arsenal reference and going undefeated was first discussed.

“Mike came in and he just talked to all the players about togetherness and working as a team and the mental side of things,” the midfielder explained.

“That [Arsenal’s unbeaten season] was something that was brought up with all the players.

“Anything is possible if you go into the games with the right attitude like we have been doing it can keep going and going. There’s no reason why it needs to stop.

“It’s just attitude and the training during the week. Everything we put into that shows on the weekends.”

And that’s certainly been the case so far this season.

With the exception of the narrow 1-0 win over Wellington Phoenix in Round 3, Sydney has dominated most of their opposition and often finish over the top of teams late in matches.

And while there’s still another 20 games to go to achieve their lofty goal, Brillante thinks the ingredients are there to create history.

“We’ve got a great vibe here, the atmosphere, the positivity within all the players is great,” the 23-year-old said.

“Everyone gets along so well and everyone is playing for each other on the pitch which is important. Everyone gets along off the pitch as well.

“It all just gels and works for us and transfers onto the pitch. And in games it makes a huge difference.”

Ange Postecoglou’s Brisbane Roar set an Australian sporting record of 36 matches without defeat in 2012, but that was over two different seasons.

The Sky Blues have the chance to increase their unbeaten run to eight games when they host win-less champions Adelaide United at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.

And next July in a friendly in Sydney, the Sky Blues meet the Gunners. What a story that would be if they were to meet Arsenal as Australia’s version of “The Invincibles”.

Our aim is to be the A-League Invincibles' - Graham Arnold

Michael Huguenin

Updated at 10:14 p.m. ET

Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold wants his team to replicate Arsenal's Invincibles by going through the A-League season undefeated.

MORE: WATCH: 'The worst miss ever' | Prime Minister 'committed to consider' Tasmania's A-League bid

Arnold's side have yet to lose through seven rounds in 2016-17, with last week's 1-1 draw away to Brisbane Roar the first time the Sky Blues haven't won this term.

In a salary-capped league that inherently promotes equalisation, many coaches would shy away from discussing an undefeated campaign but Arnold embraced it on Thursday.

"Yes, why not?" he said when asked if his team could complete the A-League season without a loss.

"I showed the players some footage of Thierry Henry and his interview [regarding] the Arsenal Invincibles and there's no reason why we can't.

"That's our aim. Our aim is to be the A-League Invincibles and go through undefeated."

In the 2003-04 Premier League season, Arsenal became just the second club to win England's top flight without losing a game.

Preston North End are the only other club to have achieved that feat in the inaugural season of the English Football League back in 1888-89.

Brisbane Roar have gone closest to earning the Invincibles moniker in the A-League with their 2010-11 side losing just one match on their way to the premiership-championship double.

Although Arnold is bullish about Sydney's potential this season, the 53-year-old insisted his A-League leaders won't be complacent when they face bottom side - and reigning champions - Adelaide United on Saturday night.

"They've [Adelaide] still got good quality players, so we have to have the right focus and the right mental preparation, the right tactical preparation and we know that physically that we're in a great position," Arnold said.

The Sky Blues boss argued that Adelaide would be affected by the absence of their coach Guillermo Amor, who has received a one-match touchline ban for being sent off in the Reds' 3-1 loss at Perth Glory last week.

"It's not the same for the players, definitely, not having the coach on the sideline," Arnold said.

"The players always look across to the coach for reassurance in certain times during the game, if it's tactical instructions. So in football, our game, the coach always likes to be on the sidelines."

The last time I remember us performing well against Soto was I think Poldi's debut when he smashed one top bins from a free kick.

Hopefully with Cazorla out now WE MIGHT BE OUR BEST HOLDING MIDFIELDER AND NOT COQUELIN.

Oh man was it hard to watch Elneny and Coquelin.
