Short:
There was no Post Relegation planning , everyone left, senior players, coaching staff, sponsors.
Their U20 won the npl league last year, dint retain/promote the best talent...
Current Technical Director Savas Saglam has moved into the role of Technical Manager where he will be responsible for overseeing the entire football department at the club.
"rebuild" for 2017 starts with appointing new coach Donnelley from North Sunshine Eagles (State League 1) and Cairnlea FC (State League 1, club relegated) .
three wins, four draws and eight defeats in 15 games. Donnelley sacked.
Club bring in Brian Vanega, 32 years old & Green Gullys U20 coach (Just started coaching this year), was Senior caretaker coach at Gully for 13 games and only lost 1 game...
Richmond: 1 draw, 2 defeats.
And now we are at today. 9 games left of the season and bottom team gets relegated...


Moral of the story:
Clubs who unfortunately get relegated need to plan and get the right backroom staff and the right coach in place early.
The Club let too many players (both senior and U20) go and didn't have the wage budget capable of competing.

2013 - Grand final winner, Northcote, runner up Bentleigh, prelim South Melbourne
2014 - (no finals), 1st South, 2nd Oakleigh, 3rd Heidelberg, 4th Bentleigh
2015 - Grand final winner Bentleigh, runner up South (minor premier), 3rd place Heidelberg. South and Oakleigh also in the cup final
2016 - Grand final winner South, runner up Oakleigh, losing semi-finalists Heidelberg and Bentleigh. Bentleigh won the cup final.
2017 - South, Heidelberg and Bentleigh top three, and Bentleigh and Bergers in the cup final.

Should Kingston avoid the drop this season, and Northcote win their NPL 2 division we'll have half the NPL league made up of clubs of a Greek background.

I was originally under the impression that as part of the NPL licences the regional clubs were protected from relegation. Although I now think that this isn't the case, do you think Bendigo City will continue in the State League next year or fold?

I believe that the regional NPL teams get to keep their juniors in the NPL system if the seniors get relegated.

The player who was in question who played on the weekend whilst should of been serving a one game suspension was Heidelberg United striker Reuben Way who received his 5th yellow card of the season in their previous game against Hume City at ABD Stadium on Saturday July 15th i'd expect that Pascoe Vale to be awarded 3-0 default win despite losing the game 1-0 due to Heidelberg United playing an ineligible player.
