I've actually been so out of football this pre-season i feel like there is some really obvious players i am missing.....

Deeney technically sells in about an hour but we are just going to presume that the remaining four are waiting until the last minute like bitches ;) (But really I just can't be bothered taking two screenshots).

Any way to force their hand?

Youve got jlm with 2, mcjules with 3 and RB and 99 probs with 4. So if one of RB and 99 were smart theyd just bid 4 mil knowing they cant be outbid but theyre probably trying to keep something spare for second auction. 

Well we can't force their hands, but I think they should just bid. After all they
A) might be thinking different players
B) this is the premise of the draft
C) You have to wait for a 72 hour time period anyway so other people will see it regardless.
D) You can pick up new transfers in the second draft anyway, and no big players are linked heavily right now

List is now empty

Effectively our cut off is 3 days before match day 1, but the other variable is if someone's player is sold (eg. Sanchez) and they then might have the money left to outbid anyone who still needs a player.

Have we ever had an empty list before?

You'll be fine to bid now if you're willing to go to 4 million. You can only be beaten by RB getting in first.

BYE teams will be sorted after the September draft, to allow for us to bring in players for that time period. Until then the squads will remain empty.

Isnt that going to be bit of an unlevel play field? Teams who play more bye teams early on get it a lot easier

Dare say that 99 would be enough to secure the player 99 probs would want, unless RB doesn't want to go in the second draft (and vice versa).

Yeah Id prefer that. Id prefer it to be a generation of say 1 keeper, 1 mid, 3 strikers thats of at least semi reasonable quality (of course id have no idea of the alogrithms for that) and those players are poachable in the auction. For consistency Id say players that arent poached stay there and we do a second generation to fill up the players poached. Maybe use something like the EPL Fantasy pricing systems or something like that?

Probably time to start curating the player list for generating the squads. I'll update the csv with latest squads from premierleague.com and put it into github so it can be added to Google Sheets.

But with players still yet to be bid on is that possible? Maybe if people just bid on some players...

Can we move the deadline earlier?

I'd be happy to do that, I reckon JLM would be too. Don't really understand why we're in this situation though!

It's more a matter of culling out the youth players that we think shouldn't be picked by the "bye teams" at this stage. Obviously the players already bought can be removed as well and we'll be left with just 4 more to do. The generation of the teams themselves should happen as soon as the draft/auction is over as it will literally take less than a second to run :)

I think it was mentioned before but you get lists from EPL fantasy and say cap it at players valued 4.5 and above or something like that?

I'm happy enough for the deadline to move. I have the player I want in my mind, but I do kind of feel the advantage of leaving money and a squad spot free at this point is to see if any major transfers happen before the first matchday.

I think it's a matter of people with remaining funds wanting to list a player as normal, there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to secure a player for 1 mil just because they're one of the last players. 

For me, as the person with the least amount of remaining funds I have no idea what to do. If I list the player I want now, I could be easily outbid. If I don't bid on a player and wait until the last minute to put one up, I run the chance of someone with more funds outbidding me after not putting a player of their own up by the deadline. 

In short, I'm not in a great position and have NFI what to do. 

Basically sums it up about wanting to be able to list a player normally. I could max bid the player I want now, but that puts me in the worst position for the next auction.

Those 2 have 4 million left. Even if they don't bid and keep 3 players there's still 4 people in front of them to bid first. I just don't see that much quality coming into the league to make it worth holding off for but what would I know I guess.

I'm in the same situation as you except I'm not concerned about what you do :laugh:

I did offer that as a suggestion but it was decided that a few volunteers would manually trim the lists instead.
