First grade? We had our two best players out, Luke and Tom, who've scored 30 of our goals. We don't win very often without them.

yes granted - were all in similar situations this time of the season.
Our 1st's had some 20's - 20's had 4 18's playing up and 18's had 4 16's up.

It is NPL 3. Teams play well sometimes and then play badly. In the 20's, we struggled to move the ball around quick enough because of the pitch. In the second half, we struggled to play out. We've played better sides then Gladesville in the last 3 games (one being on grass) and haven't had those issues because we've been working on it and the quality of the pitch played a massive part in being up to play out and move the ball around quickly. The pitch is as bumpy as Rydalmere Park.

Look for sure you played better clubs above, so have we  - were mid table overall but your 20's/18's are not much better but your 1sts are the difference regards to CC points.
The pitch is much flatter than rydalemere's so to speak.
There's have dips - pitch is massively off camber and downhill and has soft spots on the western side.
At least magdala is firm flat but has its bumps.
Your boys are too spoilt on synthetic but imo should still be able to play out as long as the player has good first time touch.
All comes down to adapting and ability.

What's the go re- Luke & Tom. No offence to Dully but their clearly of a higher standard than PL3. Is it just convenient because of Red Devils across the road lol?

Definitely too good for NPL 3. It has to do with convenience. Both don't have Aussie passports so our club and the Red Devils Academy have helped them. That's as much as I know.

Our first grade is only 6 points above your first grade. 20's are 15 ahead and 18's are 10 behind.

To be honest, we are too used to synthetic. In our last 10 games, I think we've played at least 8 on synthetic. We also train twice a week on it.

You were right about Mil. There's an ad on the FNSW website about the TD gig being open. I still reckon it's going to be Ben Burrows

Correct re the standings.....

Interestingly re the top6 clubs right now from the CC standings.
Rydalmere - grass pitch and will be promoted, PL2 teams will enjoy the ground :).
Fraser - syn.
St George - sharing Frasers syn if I'm right ?
Uni - grass
Dully - syn
Hawkes - grass

I still prefer grass but agree the pitch needs to be in good condition.

2games left to play - and the relegation battle is on as we all know.
Rage have a game in hand.
Tigers are just 3points above overall.
Were hosting Tigers Sunday that we expect every game for them is like a GF.

Stanmore only 24 point lead over the bottom teams. Would be very nervous if Rage take 21 this week haha

I prefer grass too if the condition of the pitch is up to scratch. Not many clubs have the money to maintain the pitches properly. We played Hawkesbury about a week ago and the pitch was pretty good for a grass pitch.

haha NTNP, you know whilst checking the CC ladder I did have thoughts what IF re your standing being not that far away but it would have to be amazing circumstances lol......

tFl agree, Hawkes grass is far better and its not bad at all to play on, I always think why don't they cut the grass lower for it tends to be fluffy/too high imo.
Better grass than Magdalas, I think ours is couch, wear is not good at all considering we are the only ones using the pitch and training is avoided most of the season but our drainage works well, very sand based.

very sorry seeing SU knocked out last night.
Been a tough defending season.....
Another huge FFACup next week having 3 games on Aug 29 7.30pm.
Berries vs SFC at Edensor, Berries I'm sure will give their all but against the reigning pro Champs huge 90mins.
Blacktown vs APIA at Lilys, this is big but this weekends Finals Rd2 will play into this very much.
Hakoah vs City at Leichardt, hoping Hakoah can give them a run for the money !

My pick would be going to Lilys but somehow the Hakoah game is drawing me to attend.

whatever happened to those rumours circulating about Heidelberg having fielded an ineligible player all season?
anyway, disappointing for united. payne was lucky to stay on the pitch after his punch.
vranic scored a nice goal when he came on.

two big semi finals this weekend.

blacktown v manly- could go either way, blacktown will start favourites but manly beat them last time they met. cairncross suspended, not sure if mallia will play.
rockdale v apia- another tough one although apia will start favourites. a few boys out for us, alamaddene, canak and a couple others.  doesn't matter, boys are playing well and are confident.

get on down to either semi final, should be cracking games.

the 4 best teams in the last 4.

Rockdale were never in the contest on the weekend.  Completely outplayed.  Could have been more if it wasn't for Covic.

Still think they can bounce back and knock off Manly this weekend.

Gonna have to be a massive turnaround, but with Canak back from suspension, Reid and Alameddine due back from injury, it'll be a vastly different team... But after a 5 nil thrashing, who knows...

Alameddine hasn't played much this season though has he?  Canak a big plus. I think Reid will be a liability against the pace of Manly.

He's played most games off the bench this season. Canak has kept him out. Re: Reid - Blacktown are quicker than Manly on the break, Reid seemed to cope well there. but who knows. Manly will be full of confidence, and would be favourites in this one...
