Yeah not sure what they've got against a stark raving mad, narcissistic, megalomaniacal, hypocritical, short-tempered, ADHD, man-child of a president.  (Who also happens to have the largest nuclear arsenal in the world.)

It's a mystery all right.

He could cure cancer and most media outlets would have a go at him for taking more than 15 seconds to distribute it to the entire world......

By publicly defend do you mean not solely condemn white supremacists for the violence?

I should re-iterate, I am in no way supporting Trump or the neo-Nazis. But it just seems like people are only interested in what the neo-nazis did and not the fact that it takes two sides to tango.

Perhaps this editorial will help you understand.  https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/global-opinions/wp/2017/08/16/president-trump-must-go/?tid=pm_opinions_pop

And if you think it's partisan journalism and you want to ignore whinging hand wringing lefties then remember that he has been called out by literally dozens of his own elected Republicans.

That's correct. His own side.

-------------------------------//------------------------------------

Donald Trump on Tuesday afternoon gave the most disgusting public performance in the history of the American presidency. Framed by the vulgar excess of the lobby of Trump Tower, the president of the United States shook loose the constraints of his more decent-minded advisers and, speaking from his heart, defended white supremacists and by extension, their credos of hatred. He equated with those thugs the courageous Americans who had gathered to stand up to the racism, anti-Semitism and doctrine of violence that won the cheers and Nazi salutes of the alt-right hordes to whom Trump felt such loyalty.

After several days in which Trump and his advisers wrestled with what should have been a straightforward task — condemning the instigators of the unrest that rocked Charlottesville, Va., this past weekend — Trump revealed the reason that finding those words was such a struggle. He, too, is an extremist.

No one who values the best of what the United States has stood for could watch without feeling revulsion, anger or heartbreak. No one who comes from a past such as mine, which includes similar mobs rising up and ultimately collaborating in the murder of dozens of my family members in Hitler’s Europe, could view Trump’s performance without a degree of fear as well. Certainly, the same must be true for African Americans who have watched such mobs lynch their family members and seek to deny them the most basic rights.

That is why condemnation of what happened in Charlottesville came so quickly and naturally from leaders of conscience worldwide. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has stepped up to fill the void as leader of the West created by Trump’s moral bankruptcy and incompetence, immediately called the actions of the white supremacists in Virginia “horrifying” and “evil” and stated, “It is racist, far-right violence and clear, forceful action must be taken against it, regardless of where in the world it happens.” She also swiftly displayed humanity and sensitivity by expressing sympathy to the family of Heather Heyer, killed by an extreme right-wing act of terrorism in the streets of Charlottesville. Trump has yet to speak to Heyer’s family directly or visit the site of the attack, steps he took, for example, following an incident at Ohio State, when the attacker was Muslim.

From the United Kingdom to Italy to the Vatican to China, the violence in the United States and the racism of the extremists were decried by leaders who seemed to grasp the values for which the United States has fought throughout the past century. This tracks with a broader trend in which foreign leaders, some once seen as the United States’ closest allies, have found themselves having to distance themselves from the inflammatory language and actions of the American president.

Some of us have long been urging people to see that the Trump presidency was “not normal.” But we are past such discussions now. There is only one conclusion that any American patriot of either party can draw. Trump must go.

It has been perfectly natural during the first few months of this presidency for commentators and political leaders to treat Trump, his statements and actions like those of his predecessors. But in the past week, the dangers of his reflexive behavior have become even more crystal clear. In a matter of days, the president’s reckless remarks have triggered fears of nuclear war with North Korea, he threatened military action against Venezuela, he continued his quiet war against the environment and the U.S. public health system and then, in response to Charlottesville, he revealed his true colors and that he is not preserving, protecting and defending the Constitution as his oath requires. Rather, he is at war with it and its values — from a free press, to an independent judiciary, to equal protection for all under the law.

Since the Team of Sycophants will never invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him, the responsibility lies with the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, to reveal his wrongdoing. A great task is upon whistle-blowers in the government to challenge Trump’s attacks on American institutions, upon Congress to investigate not only his ties to Russia but also his possible corruption, and ultimately, upon the American people to vote out Trump supporters and enablers on Capitol Hill, and then, ensure a suitable replacement for him in 2020.

Every day Trump remains in office is a victory for the extremists. But in that same moment on Tuesday, Trump made it clear that to defeat the champions of hatred in the United States, he must go. That he also must go to preserve the United States’ standing in the world, to ensure the safety of our people and our way of life has also been made clear in the past week. It is now time that we follow his dangerous words with our own actions. It is why Heather Heyer was on that street in Charlottesville. We owe it to her and to ourselves to remove him from office as soon as the law permits. Trump himself has demonstrated the price of each day of delay.

Wouldn't be happening if they just listened to the Gracchi!

My god. This article is profoundly retarded. If you support these words you are an immense simpleton.

First of all, like most idiots of the world have failed to recognise, last year Antifa and the Black lives matter movement killed 5 police officers. Was there the same outrage from people? Did you express the same outrage that the terrorist BLM was not wholly condemned by Barack Obama?

"German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has stepped up to fill the void as leader of the West created by Trump’s moral bankruptcy and incompetence," Of all the stupid shit that the left carries on about, this is by far the most retarded. Donald Trump is the most powerful leader in the world. By far. Nothing has changed that. If you want clarification just look at the fact that there are more US troops in Germany than German troops. Almost the entirety of Europe's security comes from the United States alone. If Donald Trump says jump, Angela Merkel says "how do you want me to suck your dick?"

"That he also must go to preserve the United States’ standing in the world, to ensure the safety of our people and our way of life has also been made clear in the past week." More garbage. Donald Trump has made the United states stronger since he came to power. Their economy is better, their military is more powerful and their borders are more secure. The only President to make the US weaker was Barack Obama.

As for North Korea, his predecessors, Bush x 2, Clinton and Obama have been completely useless against this regime despite its atrocities acting to instead kick the can down the street to the next guy in charge. If you get upset like most lefties do at the most trivial garbage, then you should surely be disgusted with the human rights abuses in N. Korea. If NK launch a nuke at the US or its Allies, then you can rest assured knowing that the US would completely wipe NK off the map in less than 3 days. By then I'd imagine most fairies would be complaining about the big meanie Americans.

If you think I'm wrong about this "Nazi" thing, just look at how well he was viewed in Poland. A country that knows far more about Fascism and Communism than anyone else.

Not looking to get into a Trump argument with the only MRA activist left on 442.  I'm only posting this because of George's cracking sledge.

  http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/movies/f-you-george-clooney-hits-back-at-trumps-criticism-of-hollywood-elites-20170925-gyo0o7.html

'F--- you!': George Clooney hits back at Trump's criticism of 'Hollywood elites'

George Clooney has slammed Donald Trump's criticism of Hollywood's stars as 'liberal elites', calling the claim "ridiculous" coming from a real estate magnate born into wealth.

"Here's the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies' shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I'd have a tie to go on job interviews," Clooney, 56, told the Daily Beast.

"The idea that I'm somehow the 'Hollywood elite' and this guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable," he said.

The actor – who was promoting Suburbicon, his upcoming satire on race relations starring Matt Damon – said liberals in the entertainment industry, who Trump regularly chastises as "coastal elites", largely hail from America's Midwest heartland and moved to Hollywood for their careers.

"I laugh when I see him say 'Hollywood elite'," said Clooney.

"Hollywood elite? I don't have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! F--- you!"

Clooney also didn't hold back on Steve Bannon, calling Trump's former Chief Strategist – largely deemed responsible for his administration's appeal to the alt-right – a "pussy".

"Steve Bannon is a little wannabe writer who would do anything in the world to have had a script made in Hollywood," Clooney said, referring to Bannon's notorious forays into the film world.

"Here's the truth: if Steve Bannon had Hollywood say, 'Oh, this is a really good script,' and they had made his movie, he'd still be in Hollywood writing his f---in' movies and kissing my ass to be in one of his f---in' films!" said Clooney.

Clooney, surprisingly, also levelled criticisms at Hillary Clinton, who he had officially endorsed during the presidential election, including a fundraiser hosted at his home that charged attendees almost $450,000 per table.

"She was more qualified than even her husband was when he was elected president, but she's not as good as communicating things... When she got up and gave a speech, it didn't soar," said Clooney.

"It was frustrating because I never saw her lift her game. I never saw it... I think that she wasn't particularly good at articulating the things that she wanted to do."

He offered a foolproof strategy for the Democrats' next presidential hopeful, saying they "should just run with a blue hat that says 'Make America Great Again'."

Suburbicon, which Clooney directed from a script by Oscar winners the Coen Bros, opens in cinemas on October 26.

Speaking of Trump, his insecurities regarding NFL players kneeling amuse me greatly. Sport has often been a platform for political activism and nothing will change providing these guys act within the law. These NFL players are peacefully highlighting a very important issue in the country. What else are they meant to do? Run down the streets with a flaming 4x2 and smash some stuff up like the BLM riots?

Pick your poison Donald.

Somewhat related but the outrage on NFL social media sites regarding the kneeling seems to be putting a lot of people off the sport. It may just be a few disgruntled white boys from the south east of the country posting on fackbook but if this issue keeps going and crowds start falling there could be some blowback.

Big congratulations to the mememaster generals around here for helping the US elect a government that takes mental healthcare away from people and lessens weapon restrictions.

You've done a good job today.

Agree wholeheartedly.
Insert but, but, but  virtue signalling caring about things is so horrible and the worst offence ever.
