+x+xI quite like the line up to be fair, albeit I am not sold on Wright in a back 3. Actually, I'm not sold on a back 3 for Australia full stop but it is what it is. I wish Ryan would get dropped however. I have zero confidence in him whatsoever. I wonder if Cahill will be playing a second striker or an advanced AM. I don't recall seeing us ever playing Juric as anything but a lone striker but my memory is shot so I could be wrong on that. Anyone know what time it is being screened on AFCdotcom channel? Still nothing mentioned on their page when I search. Can't use the channel 9 player as it said previously you need to be in Australia to access it's services, and I'm based in England. I have a BET365 account but the screen is tiny so that will be a last resort! I have it on my smart tv via Youtube app. It will start at kickoff. Yeah I plan to do the same and just mirror it to my smart TV. I always get twitchy when it doesn't screen a little bit of pre-match build up prior to kick off, as I want to ensure before KO there are no streaming issues ha ha

I would've thought that his performance against Cameroon was good enough to cement the position above the rest of the current LB options, and yet Ange set him aside in the very next game. Based on Ange's recent selections, Gersbach could score five goals and get the MOTM tonight and yet he would still get dropped for Brad Smith when the world cup comes along.

+x+x+x+xJust opened the Sydney Morning Herald and Daily Telegraph on-line and not one mention of the game. Under sport, the SMH has 8 prominent articles, being 3 rugby league, 2 rugby union, 1 cricket, 1 AFL, 1 boxing. A massive day/game for the national football team to qualify for the worlds biggest sporting event....somehow it falls below TWO rugby union articles. The game has a long way to go in media strategy, but in any event, surely it is an intentional strategy not to promote this game. Why would people in Sydney care more about racism in Collingwood than Australian qualifying for the world cup. The age old image problem. Our country is fascinated by many sports people barely play anywhere else - AFL and Rugby League are two in particular. Most who don't follow football in Australia think all Asian teams are rubbish and we should beat all of them easily. This is also applicable to many Eurosnobs too. We desperately need to qualify just to keep our heads above water for the profile of the sport. In just about every one of the 25 countries I've visited or lived in overseas, football is nearly always the number one or number two sport. WCQ makes little difference to the profile of the sport in the majority of countries. When I travel overseas to just about anywhere else, it reminds me of how out of contact and self-focused we are - heliocentric. Hey, decentric... nobody thinks Japan and South Korea are rubbish, and they are Asian teams. Please tone down your contempt for your fellow Australians' intelligence, and cut out that negativity... Wonder if any Asian team will get a point in Russia, Would be an improvement on Brazil AFC teams got three points in Brazil. Pretty bad, probably the worst result in modern times, not not zero like you infer.

I've been baffled by it as well. I'm not an Arnie fan at all, but you have to admit when a young player shows they're good enough, at least he has faith in them. That's where Gersbach got his start.

The good is Mooy, Gersbach, Cahill and Juric starting
Bad is the back three, Degenek has no idea how to be a good defender, Wright tries to be a good defender, he knows what to do but he is just not very good at it.
Spiranovic has quality these two lack he should be starting unless injured.
