+xIf there's no expansion next season, I think membership numbers will drop slightly and TV viewing + crowds will continue on the decline. I would expect attendance to go up next season with Wanderers having a rectangular pitch home ground again and hopefully being competitive. Total attendance after 19 rounds is 18k less than last season but Wanderers is down 41k on last season at this stage.

+x+xI reckon AAMI park makes it a bit tricky. To get to that 30k, it relies heavily on selling out all of the premium A and B memberships which is a bit of a big ask given the price tag. I think we should be overselling GA memberships on a first in best dressed basis. once its full you close the gate. We would start getting 18k sellouts if we did that.

I think we should be overselling GA memberships on a first in best dressed basis. once its full you close the gate. The problem with that is that it closes the door for new supporters. A certain percentage of general admin tickets need to be available for non members to purchase. A closed shop could halt growth too much.

+xVictory pushed really hard throughout January to bump the numbers up to no avail. the 30,000 goal seems to be a long way off. I'm starting to wonder if we have maxed out at 26-27,000? Jets have always had a solid fan base for a 'regional' club. They deserve more recognition.

+x+xStrange times. Membership numbers are good, attendance figures are OK and TV numbers have dropped through the floor. It would seem that the League has lost the interest of the casual sports fan. At the current time, honestly. I'm only really enjoying watch MV play, very entertaining football. Reminds me of Brisbane a few years ago under Ange Perth aren't too bad to watch either. +x+xStrange times. Membership numbers are good, attendance figures are OK and TV numbers have dropped through the floor. It would seem that the League has lost the interest of the casual sports fan. Or maybe football fans are simply not interested in a Fox subscription and are seeking out alternative more cost effective sources to watch the games live. It's also important to note that TV ratings are down for all sports, both here and overseas. People consume media differently now, content providers need to listen to the public in change. True, ratings are down across the board, but the A League seems to have been hardest hit (percentage wise). +x+xStrange times. Membership numbers are good, attendance figures are OK and TV numbers have dropped through the floor. It would seem that the League has lost the interest of the casual sports fan. There are anecdotal reports from some analysist I have read that are indicating the Fox & Telstra streaming is near equal the Fox ratings. I have no idea if this is true, if fact the figures are being kept tight to the chest we are told. However even if partly true it does explain the down turn. Hopefully the information you're getting is true. If it is, I'm surprised the League GM hasn't released it yet (if he has access to it).

+x+xthey've offering a 5 game membershhip + free ACL combo atm. Fark! I got called up and took the 5 gamer a week or two ago - missed out on the acl offer :( Cancel and re-sign :) 30k is a stretch target but MV had 28k at one point, so not that far off.

+x+x+xyou'd have to say we'll pass last year but fall short of the record. the stagnant nature of membership numbers is yet another reason why we so despertately need expansion. What's the record? We might actually push 120-125k this year (if you count those late 5 game memberships as part of the numbers - which the HAL does). Does it actually matter if no cnut shows up to the games ? They pay for membership. It pays some of the bills.
