Maybe one day Australia will actually play in the Olympics again.   Remember when we used to do that when results actually mattered?

Results mattering is now violence against sockah players. The other teams have been informed so will take it easy on us and let us win the body shapes contest.

Arnold has coached at the Olympics before in Beijing...  and 2 Asian Cups,,,  all underwhelming results.  Lets see how he goes at the next Olympics (if we qualify)

We've got to get past South Korea to even make it to the qualifying tournament...

what do you think arnold is doing right now?

would be pretty bored with no games on

Counting his lucky stars for Alen Stajcic who has taken all the pressure off him.

I can’t actually think off the top of my head of a BIG NAME club coach who has done anything of note with a National team.

Hiddink is probably the closest

LOL you guys really have no clue.  😅😅😅

It's very much international.

Say's the guy who dreams of a coach nearing pension age who has only been successful at a club with an open cheque-book and has never entered the international arena.

GTFOH you dope.

So a 65-year-old with zero international experience would be your choice?

Ok, now I know I'm wasting my time with you.

Manuel Pellegrini who won the title with Manchester City, coached in Chile, Argentina, England, Spain, China, Ecuador... 🙄

I'm wasting my time with you.

I told you, I'm not doing the work for the ffa for free. If I got paid I would narrow them down and find a few candidates.

Better than Arnold, within the ffa budget and suitable for Australia, basically ticking all the boxes. 100% I can find a better candidate.

My personal favourite and dream coach would be Pellegrini, I've said that already when Postecoglou left, but he costs a lot more.

@Feed the Brox

I quite like Arnie’s tactic, as in his formation. Personally, I think he is being a bit hard done by, as there has been a lot of injuries, and the crux of our issue really is, and has been (as evidenced by the WCQ under Ange, as well as the WC itself under Bert), that we don’t have an out and out striker that is deadly.
Yes, I think the term I heard last night was like 18 goals in 7 games under Ange, but most of them were against nufties. But still, they were goals I guess.
I do feel confident under Arnie. But not under our strikers.

Arnie in. The experience that he and the younger players have gained from this tournament is invaluable  and will be beneficial for the World Cup qualifiers. Add a fully fit Mooy, Arzani, Boyle, Nabbout and Leckie and the performances will be even better. Our depth has been tested and while not excelling we have passed the test - a platform for success has been established.

Uzbek's one of the best teams of the tournament. We really shouldn't expect to beat teams like that easily, especially not without our best players.
