I was talking about CA not having a Elite Bowling Program similar to the Saffers as a possible reason for the decline of our quicks. They conducted the Spin Camp in 2018 so are taking that discipline seriously. Why then not something similar for our elite and most promising quicks?

He did play 1 game, in December I think it was, but nothing since. I hope he does change his problems in action thus the training camp, because as we were talking about last year, with his ability with bat and ball he is a really good option to replace a few players going around. But still I have no idea what the almighty CA are thinking

Totally agree, but we are dealing with egos and their willingness to listen, with poor form that some are currently showing they might change their approach. It's a bit hard when someone is touted the best since McGrath the egos blow out of proportion, afterall when Harris offers help and is a bowling coach, egos say "why listen to him I'm already better, see what the newspapers are saying". But now reality is apparent maybe the ego deflates and they are willing to listen. Fast bowlers are a breed of their own. And get good bowlers to help, eg Harris to help Hazlewood, Johnson to help Cummins, But who do we have to help genuine swing bowlers? Those who can... do, those that can't... teach, not really what you want.

Chuck the ego and burst the "gilded bubble" and get back to reality.  Cummins is fine. Who is gonna help Starc or is it too late for him? Not so Hazlewood. Still the best part of his career to come. Wonder if the greats such as DK and McGrath had lows in their careers. Expect so.

Ryan Harris should not be coaching anyone, do not want him anywhere near future quicks.

Any bowler who plays test cricket for Australia is a better bowler than David Saker the current bowling coach. It is not about who is the better bowler, it is about being able to teach players how to make themselves better bowlers. 

Harris has been with future quicks as mentor and coach of our underage program..

A fucking joke, his rise to being a fast bowler stinks, I do not trust him at all. 
I asked the question before and I will ask it again as I did not get an answer. 
Is their another example of a medium pacer dramatically increasing their pace to become a top fast bowler?

Nair never went away Mike. Took 3-12 for the Thunder today. Want him to get at least one game for the Blues after BBL.

And that means nothing. If he is any good he should be playing FC cricket.

Agree. Will the selectors pick him tho. They should but SOK is an unmovable presence at the moment  as the Blues spinner. Nair has the batting ability to bat in the top 6 but that is a way down the track. Still as long as he is playing circus cricket he is getting noticed.

An international series that has slipped thru my radar. Our U16s are engaged in battle with Pakistan in the UAE. Cricinfo is covering it.. Not a word from our own CA cricket site. Poor show.

I am fairly certain this is the first time CA has sent a team away as young as this. 
Two of our boys McFadyen and Radhakrishnan look the stand outs with both bat and ball.

 There has been one piece of the Pathways Program that I totally approve of and could bear fruit in coming years. CA introduced a scheme back in about 2016 to send our best under 17 cricketers to play in local competitions (hopefully red ball) in Asian sub continental countries. There has been little feedback from this visionary venture. Not even sure if the program is still being run.

Yes those two look good. 
Radharkrishan averaged around 45 with bat and 17 with the ball
McFadyen averaged 48+ with bat and under 25 with the ball.

Noah McFadyen is a Nudgee College student, which recently have produced a lot of talented cricketers in recent times, such as Burns, Lynn, Hauritz, so he's getting good coaching there obviously. He is probably more a bowling all-rounder. He is not setting the world on fire with his batting in the The Lord's Taverners Competition (U16) but has been playing 2nd and 3rd division, and taking a few wickets. Interesting they dropped Jamieson Murphy as captain and gave the role to McFayden for the 3rd game, I'm not sure that would be the right thing to do to such a young player. Two players who dominated U16 comp here were Lachlan Bell and Aaron Densley, and Aaron can bowl as well. Neither are on a cricket pathways program of any sort but they do have the Qld Pathway Program. That's the problem with these Pathway programs they limit player pools. Based on the performance of McFayden in the U16 Australian games I'm sure Bell and Densley would have offered more than some of the other chosen players, as would be the case in most states.

Another interesting thing is Australia lost the first game, then  Riley Smith and Connor Cook were both dropped for the 2nd game and Australia won, then both came back for the 3rd game and Australia lost. Why would you change a winning team, selectors obviously made the right decision in dropping both, but bringing them back in cost Australia the series win.

It was only a three game series Mike?  Presuming Riley Smith and Connor Cook are from the Premier State going by your smugness mate.:P I am all for every state having its own Pathway Program, if for nothing else, that it provides good junior training/coaching. Seems QLD is doing good things with its program. I have heard of Nudgee College. If not mistaken rugby player David Pocock was also schooled there.

Not that you are all that interested in this Mike.. /www.cricketnsw.com.au/elite-pathway/youth-male. Cricket NSW is also building a new state of the art Centre of Excellence at Sydney Olympic Park. This is good news. But will the emphasis be on red ball cricket. I fear not.

Nivethan Radharkristian evidently.. wait for it.. bowls finger spin with both hands. Has been in the NSW Academy since he was 13 years. CA also has its eye on this ambidextrous all rounder.. yet another promising Aussie cricketer of Indian descent.

Australia still has a chance to win the series with two ODIs and a T20 remaining.

Dunno. But there is a clip on Fox cricket of him bowling with both. We almost lost him to Indian cricket as he was born there. But he has pledged his allegience to us.
