+xApparently the Chinese owners of Birmingham city have backed out on funding wmg. Wmg looking for new partners. Probably why it's been quiet on the stadium front, they don't have enough money to proceed with construction.

If that’s the case, what’s more concerning is the FFA knowing and still awarded it...

Well, voting is open for the name of the club. Would be disastrous if the stadiums falls through or keeps getting delayed..they were never ready to enter this early. Nice one FFA!

Wait a second, I thought the backers of this bid were supposed to be Australian. That’s what I seem to recall reading at one point.
The silence though about who the backers are is concerning though. That level of secrecy hardly bodes well.

Sounds like the FFA stuffing up expansion yet again, given when Canberra was ready to join this is disappointing but i should not be surprised.

@Fatboys41090527·Ok. Hearing some drama between Wyndham Council and @WesternMelbGrp . Not much on council's website since this.(link: https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/news/wyndham-league-bid-makes-short-list) wyndham.vic.gov.au/news/wyndham-l…Now why isn't Kate Roffey organising free public housing instead of free land and stadium for rich boys?#koshernotkosherECP@Fatboys41090527So apparently Chinese investors being a bit tight with money. Tipping this will be next big issue for @FFA Board to address.

They should be hosting fan forums in the areas they represent instead of being lazy drop kicks getting fans all over the country selecting names and colours.

Yeah of course. Forums get the actual fans. An online vote is more than likely going to go the way of every other online vote and the silliest option will win. Expecting a fair few Club mcclubface suggesfions

This was always a joke bid - this stadium was never going to happen and you can't start a club in the middle of paddocks with dodgy Chinese backers. Should have been SE Melbourne. Yet more FFA stupidity.

SE Melbourne was going to have the same issue, nobody was going to build a stadium for them.
It should have been SM by default really.

The WMG bid was always about property development in Tarniet and had nothing to do with creating a football club. now that property prices have dropped and banks have tightened lending on property the financials probably dont stack up so teh chinese backers are gonski

+xSE Melbourne was going to have the same issue, nobody was going to build a stadium for them.It should have been SM by default really. Yep But not for $15 million Another solid example of FFA making a decision based on how not to let smfc in and settling on an underwhelming bid When this goes to shit and takes the league down with it, no sympathy from me The FFA are already out of credits and driving on fumes before expansion
