Wow so Buhagiar just never got into it? Deng seems rusty. I thought Metcalfe did well. We had some chances and needed to score earlier on. Can't close out games.

He seemed to play players half who were playing and half who were not, it was a strange selection.

you know what would set back australian football, if all the players are from europe and their clubs find out that they failed to qualify, and they just let them go.

you dont deserve to be in europe if you cannot qualify for the olympics

Can't say we had poor preparation. I doubt the player suspension is an issue for the team mentality. We beat China, North Korea and Lithuania in November and drew with South Korea pre tournament. Frustrated at this result as we had chances and blew it yet again.

Cleur and Baccus did themselves no favours. Buhagiar.....

Crikey.

Obviously Bahrain are the weaker team of the group, but that's a huge signal by the home team ahead of our match.

Ffs way too much complacency again. Did we leave it all on the pitch? I just want to see them go all out for once. We get way too comfortable and cock up. Had we won we may have seen a draw vs Thailand setting us up with a decent route out. Now we're in a fair bit of trouble and really need a result vs Thailand.

With the same linenup i will get beaten by the Thais. We got no creative midfield or someone with killer pass. Maybe Italiano, n Forlami should start. Buccus needs to b replaced.

Definitely get Duncan in there and Toure deserves another shit. Italiano and Metcalfe are good on the ball. Cleur will be fortunate to play again.

Toure from what I say was lethargic and could not match the movement of the Iraqi defenders.

The whole team is set up for pace and power but we need technical players against teams in Asia.
Piscopo was the only player likely in the starting XI. Gersbach has reached his peak.

Regarding Gersbach I'm sure he'd be sharper with constant minutes. Fair enough call on Traore. Folami has a desire to score.

Bahrain are probably the weakest in the group but the result against Thailand is certainly unexpected - they do have 6 players that have played in the senior squad that has been improving greatly over the last two years.

17 year old Buriram United striker Suphanat Mueanta scored two for the Thais and has already played 3 games for the senior side, he will be a danger man for them and may be a very prominent name in the future if he can develop right.

I'm expecting a tough game against Thailand on Sunday. They'll have the home support and are generally more technical than Iraq. They also have attackers that are quite pacey and know how to finish so we'll need a big improvement particularly from the midfield and fullbacks.

That was an awful performance and quite possibly our chances are already over. We have to beat Thailand to have any hopes of qualifying. We simply couldn't drop points to iraq but our players aren't good enough, the systems aren't good enough.
Baccus is one of the worst players i've seen to get a call up. His style is not suited to international football, he'll get sent off every match.
Toure is sadly the only finisher we have at this age group. His goal was well taken, but sadly offside. He still needs a lot of work in other parts of his game. He was playing park football 6 months ago though remember

Not a single good player for us. Sad, but not surprising. I said beforehand we'll be lucky to make it out of the group.

Please get your head scanned.

Last time I checked when you have a serious injury or haven’t played first team football for months it’s quite difficult to play the sport.
