good to see the academy sides down the bottom, i hope they all get relegated. top of the table clash this week. I feel like APIA will run away with this title, too strong.

+xSo good away win by Rockdale. SU done the Bulls. The Italians bagged the points. SO lost. Table after 6 games is SU Rockdale equal top. Followed by the Italians thankyou very much. L1 SGFC Hills Spartans Berries L2 Uni Nepean Jets Magic Better performance by both Marconi and APIA this weekend. Early days, but Romero looking like a big big loss for APIA, after bagging the goals in early rounds, just Barley managing one since he’s left

+x+xcan someone confirm to me how these HAL academies sides in the NPL works? i have noticed several A-league players playing on saturday for example then they are eligable to drop down and play for their NPL team on a sunday. if thats the case, then i dont agree with that at all. been going on for years. quality of the npl side each week very much depends on who drops from the a-league squad. All players that drop down now have to be U23 or can they also have a few over age? The age used to be U21

Exactly, football the way it should be and is everywhere else. Sign of a champion team that maintains consistency over a protracted number of rounds.

+xyer thats the prob fielding U21's and not any Snrs to steady the ship or direction competing against seasoned campaigners in the many NPL squads. Some big turn arounds this week. Sutho got their 1st win. SO down by Rockdale. Huge comeback by SU58 ! StG put away Marconi ! APIA on top after 4rounds. Legue 1 Spartans on top League 2 Nepean on top Frustrating home loss for Marconi, would have set up next weeks Italian derby nicely. Obviously very early days, but with the first past the post format, and given how close the top of the table was last season, you don’t want to be dropping too many of these sorts of games, particularly at home. surely given budget at the disposal of the club in comparison to most others, you’d want to be lifting trophies more regularly than we have been. But again, early days, looking forward to Sunday

As expected the academy sides will occupy the bottom places. They will give teams a run for their money but the inexperience of closing games is costing them
