+x+x+x+xThat'll be tough. Always was going to be I suppose. Didn't matter who we drew, all would be tough. yep, there are NO easy games in CL. BB mate, you won't know yourself with all these new Hoops casual supporters. I can imagine already some of the posts. The WF thread will be getting more traffic than just you and me in recent times :ermm::D My gut tells me that the WF thread will still be dead (outside us?? including us??), and there will be a thread of some sort in the AF section dedicated to the topic. ah yes cause its stralian, wonders why none going in there for Matty in the gooner thread or a Brighton one for that matter followed by a China Mooysi one
Then we had one complain why the Euro thread in AF :w00t:

We know Ange so we we get what is behind his words. I can understand Celtic fans who don't know him feel his words are the same as every other manager but listen exactly how he lays things out. It's much more through than someone like Lennon. Unlike newbies with a few prior gigs, Ange brings a CV with a lot of weight. It's not like those newer managers getting their first big gig who are out of their depth.

Hahahahaha 'How much of a jump is this for you?'
Ange: I don't know what you mean by jump. I'm assuming you mean I worked at a lower level. I guess that's a matter of opinion. I coached at a world cup and against some of the best teams in the world. I see it as a new opportunity.

And tbh i'd actually argue Japan's top league is at a higher level (definitely technically) than Scotland. Loved hearing him say 'I'll back my judgement above everyones elses'. He's gonna ruffle some feathers with that Ange bristle, and we're going to love the ride.

A moment or two gave me some concerns the two others at the conference could stab him in the back but generally it was very supportive. If the start goes pear shaped I fear it could turn quickly. It shouldn't. Even if Celtic finished 4th this season, a true clean slate after those contracts run out with Ange's own squad will be the truer indication. Klopp didn't have instant success at his clubs.

This will be a rollercoaster ride though. While a lot of fans are saying he needs players and time I think we all know he will need to get off to a positive start.

If you don't have time for the whole thing skip to exactly 10:00 for a good question about Ange's playing philosophy touching on his late father and his 👑👑👑 answer.

Take out celtic and rangers and the Japanese teams from the 3rd place downwards would beat their corresponding scotttish teams

been on this forum a while and seeing Ange where he is now is bringing tears to my eyes... it really hit me this morning how big this is for our game.... we always talk up kids going overseas and what they can be/achieve... but to see Ange at Celtic is just incredible.

Ange's system and style is all very well, but to truly effect the revolution he needs players - really quickly.
I'd like him to convince at least one of Ajer and Edouard to stay.
Bring in Ryan and Mooy also if that was possible.
And at least three others - one of whom needs to be a very dominant CB and two very fast and aggressive wide backs.
And a striker - that will be hardest in terms of value and time. Would be good to convince Edouard to stay.

Klopp didn't have instant success at his clubs. He will have the backing from most of us fans. But if he doesn't deliver, and deliver fast then things will start to change - and things can change fast. Winning the League this season is extra important, more so then any previous for around 13-15yrs(ish), as the league winners get direct qualifications for the group stage for next seasons Champions League, and all the much needed extra funds. If he starts off slow, and falls off the pace, than he will only add extra pressure on himself.

He will need to convince them to sign a contract extension. Otherwise the best option for the team is to sell them this transfer window, rather then lose them for nothing at seasons end.

If he starts off slow, and falls off the pace, than he will only add extra pressure on himself. But that demand for instant success is not giving Ange or any manager a fair go. That’s fine if that is the expectation, who am I to downgrade others expectations but from what I have been reading on Celtic Facebook fan groups, the team needs about half a dozen quality players brought in, very quickly (as in within the next week or two at the latest), or that 25 point gap with Rangers will get bigger. This is the view of other Celtic fans not Ange supporters. So what happens if these players are not brought in? Even Guardiola or Mourhinho or Klopp couldn’t do much you’d imagine. I guess it’s a problem with fanatical fans worldwide, the massive gap between expectation and reality. Sometimes patience is required to rebuild. Seems to me if Celtic are to win the league this coming season, regardless of the manager, the chequebook has to be opened up big time, immediately.
