+xImo Trewin is a hands down better player than a now much pace reduced Hingeet As a CB I would rate Trewin over Hingert. As a right wingback I would have Hingert. When Brindell-South came off for Hingert the other week, Hingert showed how much his experience backed quality adds to the side. You will probably have a lot of Roar supporters agree with you that Hingert's age has reduced his effectiveness (if they rated him in the first place) - but in my eyes he belongs and I am glad we have him there.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Roar will never be a champion quality side with Hingert in the starting XI if we are satisfied with that standard.

With a '1 a game' (dreaming) goal scorer in our side we would have ended up top of the table this season. With a '1 in 2 game' goal scorer we probably would have ended up top of the table this season. Hingert did not play every game for us, but we had a very good defence when he was playing and that helped put us in the position of possibles for the title. Our failure to be champion quality is not in our defence. With spurned chances, we were simply a finisher away from being Premiers this season - with Hingert in the starting 11. And not an IF in sight ;)

I agree he is not a national team right wingback - but he is good enough to help us get a championship if the other end of the field works properly.

The right wingback has to have quality in attack as well as being solid in defence. While our current options are serviceable, none really are a threat in attack, because they struggle with passes into the box.I actually thought BS was probably the best of the three in attack.Trewin best in defence.Hingert more alround. CBrown was much improved alround on the left. If we now have Milieusnic ,this suggests the use of his pace upfront, which doesnt suggest overlapping wing backs.Otherwise his pace would only be of value on quick counterattacking with long balls.

What we do know he has bricks for feet and can’t cross. Not to mention every now and then he loses his marker at crucial times. It only shows how accepting mediocrity is at Roar. You need to be better to be part of a champion collective.

Yes, I thought Brown had improved too insofar he’s avoided the brain farts for a significant spell. We use to categorise him on the same level of usefulness as Hingert but Brown has since excelled and has been a solid part of the team.

You need to be better to be part of a champion collective. I do know that. We had so many stuffed shots on goal that should have been converted. Nothing that Jack did or did not do alters that. The opportunities were there to be finished without a doubt, and our defence was well up to the challenge this season. In our league every team has to have some players who are not stars in the starting side - whether they are really good squad players or not. I rate Jack as a very good squad player at the least who I am happy to have in the starting side (obviously). When we play with a back 3 the wingback needs to do a little less in defence and more in attack which I guess does make Hingert less effective overall. Jack is probably suited more to a back 4 even though he does lose his marker sometimes. @Crimson - I think Brindell-South was a better attacking player, but possibly the worst crosser of balls that we had in the team. Watching him in warm ups week after week he always crossed far too high and far too long and that carried through into games. With the ball at his feet he is better than Jack, but not as a component of a functioning unit.

If we're shifting to a 433, I'd have Neville over Hingert at RB and have Trewin starting at CB. if there is 5 at the back, I'd have Brindell-South over Hingert on the right and Aldred, Neville and Trewin starting CBs.

You would think,a striker would be in the pipeline and assuming no Danzaki ,a replacement for him.

This period of no news is very frustrating. The Roar web site is worse than useless with it still showing players who have signed for other clubs. Its time that the admin side of the Football club came into the 21st century.

Should we bring back bes? He currently a free agent after being released from WU and is training at gc United at the moment.
He not what he used to be. But definitely feel he will give everything playing for the roar more than any club. He a known quality and is a Aussie now. Considering the loss of dwh, I think he is a suitable replacement and bring some experience to the club.

Can't see it happening though, he has a young family and is settled in Melbourne. He would probably be able to pick up more money in the Vic NPL.

Considering the loss of dwh, I think he is a suitable replacement and bring some experience to the club. Is he going to score a goal every 2 games for us? I think that is possible given the excellent chances we have been creating and not finishing - and that we expect to continue creating next season. In that light I would say yes unless it then precludes us getting another genuine striker. Bes/Danzaki Bes/Parsons Bes/New striker/Parsons Could all work for us. We just need consistent and reliable goal scoring regardless of how old the legs might be and Bes would give us another year to bring Parsons through and whoever else we have developing. I would prefer a younger and longer term reliable striker though.

Memberships are out, pricing looks really good $195 for the cheapest full season Adult ticket and $80 for the corresponding junior ticket and includes a discount on paramount+
All games at Moreton Daily stadium again, but the 8, 5 and 3 game options look good for people who can’t make it to every game.

Its a shame ,we wont get to see A League in Brisbane anymore.Who knows what the future holds. Gold Coast maybe.Thats closer for me. Go Moreton Roar.Yay!
The funny thing is that if there was a second division the highest ranked Qld team after Roar is Peninsular Power ,which plays from Redcliffe ,Moreton Bay Shire ,also.Lol What a bizarre situation that would be.Two Qld teams playing out of the same stadium ,40km away and not in Brisbane. What will it take to get a small stadium in Brisbane?

Despite Waz’s view that people don’t support teams based on their location, unfortunately an hour or more each way (with no public transport available) especially on week nights is out of the question for me. Thought it might be just the one season, but clearly it’s a long-term thing. Just hope that sometime in the near future the ALeague again has a team in Brisbane.

Hope so for the sake of all you 'Southsiders'. Gold Coast would suck for me. They are surely looking hard for a more middling option. I have no doubt of that at all. Paid up for next season - membership cards in December - Member packs in January. Better get in quick everyone ;)

Maybe the Redcliffe move can be put down to Covid as well. While Covid lockdowns are still a thing ,it doesnt make sense to play out of cavernous Suncorp Stadium and lose millions.Crowds locked out of Redcliffe wont hurt so much.
