BULLDOGS SNARE TIGERS BIG BOPPER

The Bulldogs have continued their build-up for 2022 by signing one of the best young props from the Tigers system.

Mavoni Tuifua is a big, ball-playing 20-year-old in the Junior Paulo mould.

The youngster will go straight into the Bulldogs' full-time squad for next season and is a good chance to play plenty of first grade given the club's problems up front this year.

The Bulldogs recently signed Tuifua for two years and have high hopes for the burly front-rower.

- From Mole.

One thing he doesn't lack is intent. "Fold some c***t!"

Exactly what we need, my impression is that the professionals currently running recruitment and retention at our club know what they are doing.

And we are not yet finished for 22.

In terms of props and locks I'm now close to happy,
If we can sort out Hertherington's tackle technique he is a great player.

When we play better, frustration levels should be lower, every player will look better.

He does look a f***in’ unit doesn’t he.

Brings that from Flagg to NRL and some c*** is gonna get folded.

I like his aggression in running the ball up but it will be a matter of whether he can bring that into first grade and sustain fitness levels.
To be fair, the current rules only allow a player like this to play in short stints. He reminds me of Ava and you can see the limitations in Ava.

Defensive agility is key to the modern game and unless the team works as unison to share the workload in the middle, i can see a player like this struggle.
This is why Thompson is so important for us. He can play with the aggression but also has the fitness to defend in the middle for large chunks of time.

In any case, it is at least good that we are picking up players with the desire to hit and push through the line rather than lumber up like Napa...

This is why I think we need to play Jackson and prop/lock, add Topine to the side and find another mobile 80 minute defensive 2nd rower.
Thompson, Vaughan, Jackson, Topine and Mr X play long minutes and do most of the tackling.
Hethington, Ava, TPJ  this unit, maybe Oden and Patolo provide the size and impact.
Doorey and Ellott a bit of both, Wardell maybe in the mix,
RFM also an impact player.

I am now shifting the focus to hooker/half, BBO in the mix for both but more likely hooker.
If Wakeham is staying he is in the mix for both.
If Wakeham or Flanagan is going, we can get a hooker/half with more experience.

We have probably still got some cents in the piggy bank.

I noticed a bit of speed and footwork and we can't fault the aggression..

It is a highlight reel, but at least he had plenty, in attack and defence.

Bwahaha!

He’s not even the best hooker in his team.

BSmith has been the best hooker this year. Excelled with the new rules. I don’t think anybody would argue that Harry is a better rake and maybe a better player overall. But that’s a mute argument unless we are a chance of signing him instead.

BSmith has been the best hooker, in the best team this year. It’s crazy to think he isn’t worth huge money. Especially to a team that will finish last and needs a player in the exact position he plays.

Hoppa off to St Helens for 2 years next season.

Maybe he can step up, with his future sorted.

He was so much better the last few seasons, this season is disappointing.

I think we have debated the Cheese at length, all would welcome him.

But the money is big, and clubs that don't think long and hard when spending bjg money typically get SC problems.

Either way I think it will be sorted by November.
Or if we sign a different hooker then it is sorted, until then .... watch and wait...

It is vital we offload Flanagan. Even if it means we fork out half his 400k salary. It will free up a top 30 spot and also allow us 200k in the kitty.
Lets face it, next year with Burton here, he would be at least 3rd choice half (after Averillo, Wakeham) and even then, id rather we threw Dufty or Jackson at 5/8th before i see Flanno in the team...

There is no shame in admitting it was mistake signing. We were desperate at the time and needed to cool the fan base down with at least someone.
It failed, we have the spoon, move on. Don't compound the mistake by playing him just because he is on the books.

Horsbrugh and James named instead of us Dman, we will have to settle for the free drinks.
Worth it to see Horsbrugh in Dogs colours, hope he gets suspended 😁
Wardell omited, must be injured, for once I thought he played ok.

It will be funny if we win, even funnier if Horsbrugh and James get suspended and we need to borrow another 2 props next week.

They should just let us borrow Latrell, Turbo and Teddy,  in fact the whole NSW SOO team.

The Cows side is even stranger than ours.

They dropped a centre to put Granville and Asi in the centres.

From memory Asi is a half....

Is it the 1st of April?

Micko, in your last post just after the words B Smith, you mentioned probably the most important attribute surrounding next season. The rules.......
Forget Cheese atm it's the rules. As fans we all know what a cluster fvck and abysmal failure they have been and it's not only Doggy supporters think they are a load of horseshit, fans from all clubs are walking away from the game. Now will V'lad impale the game because he us too stubborn to admit he fvcked up or will he fall on his sword and realise that the new rules is causing too much damage and revert back to the old rules. The biggest problem is that the clubs are all changing their rosters and playing styles to suit and we will end up with another messy season.

Is the NRL a fair dinkum comp?

They are doing everything they can to make sure every game gets played and they dont lose even $1 in broadcast money.....

It's a sad state of affairs when they stoop to this level.

I know it doesn't matter for us as we are out of contention anyway and it probably gives match fitness to the Raiders reserves given theres no lower grade comp. But it's hard to support the team with FI- FO players....

At least we get to see what different players can bring to the club, even if only for a short stint....

I think they need to repeal on the 6 agains and go back to 2020 rules with only few indiscretions resulting in 6 agains and the rest to be penalties.

They also should look long and hard at how they deal with accidental head tackles and crushers when players fall or into the tackle or back into it themselves.

Finally, I'd like to see them play scrums from kicks out.

I also would appreciate if obstruction was returned to it's original definition and none of this bullshit "caught in on inside shoulder" when the decoy doesnt even obstruct or influence the defence line. Joke of a rule.

There is no way ‘Celebrity Bulldogs’ would not be a ratings bonanza... Each week, Australia’s hottest influencers battle it out for an opportunity to wear Jack Hetherington and Luke Thompsons jersey....

Amazing are the stories of these legendary people.
Went to Romania and most souvenirs have a Vlad on it including my Tea Mug.
Yet he perished (or not)  in a Hungarian prison.
Quite a walk in the labyrinth by chain  in the dark but worth it to be not scared by my son-in-law.
