yeah Abada has been great the past 2 games now and seems more composed when crossing the ball, Dundee's defence consisted of english league 2 and scottish championship (div 2) players so no surprises their conceding so many goals.

I'm sure Ange is really happy with Barkas and his efforts before the game lol

Barkas isn't good enough BUT...This is a shooting drill. He's just there to provide goalkeeper position context for shots and he's purposely told not to make too much effort so he can face more shots.

Abada's style reminds me of Nakagawa of Yokohama F Marinos winger, quick, direct and can cut in or go out wide to put in a cross.

Its not always about big names its sometimes about finding players that fit into the tactical footprint of a team and Abada looks to be a very useful signing so surprises there he's fit in very well.

Someone needs to tell and convince that to McGregor. He has played more minutes then nearly most other players, especially the past few seasons.

On the positive side, “Angeball” is definItely part of the Celtic fan lexicon now on Reddit. 

I'm one of those,  but had previously lurked on the forum.  I'd be quite happy to have others from somewhere else come here,  it would bring a bit of life,  and considering alot (not all) of the Celtic supporters dismissed Ange I'd hope we wouldn't be like that if the roles were reversed. 

Having said that,  the absolute one eyed biased by some Aussies on there is frustrating, particularly early on.

yeah I don't expect him to bring out world class saves but he doesn't dive for the ball once while picking up 15 grand a week, you could honestly put a football mannequin in for that drill and it would've saved as much as he did. That user is what we call a Barkas sympathizer- they will defend him until the end because they've been on social media for the past year telling us how good he was going to be based off videos on Youtube they watched before he came, yet he's turned into the top 3 worst signings the club has ever made.

RE: Our goalkeeper situation....

The thing that pisses me off about the whole Barkas thing/signing, was we had the chance to BUY Forster about a month or two earlier for about the same price as what we ended up paying for Barkas.

The reason why we never got Forster??.... Simple = The Celtic board decision.

Both Forster (and Southampton) were keen on a permanent transfer deal. Forster wanted to sign a permanent deal with Celtic (Southampton seemed fine with the idea), and not another loan deal. Celtic weren't willing to pay for a transfer, preferring for another loan deal – Probably believing that they will end up getting him on a cheap loan deal again.

Once they realised they've stuffed up big time they had to go look elsewhere for a a keeper and decided Barkas was the right man and paid AEK Athens £4.5mil (around the same money Southampton were happy for Forster).

So every time Barkas stuffed up, or failed to be selected just pissed me off, due from knowing what/who we could of had, and how it was handled. 

On top of the whole Forster disaster/farce, we should have also have tried to do more at keeping Gordon – But that topic/conversation is for another time.

Saw the highlights, some excellent moves and goals.

Some of those Dundee players looked like they were about 15 kgs overweight-their captain for one looked like he should be playing union.

That was Charlie Adam.  He was the guy that "tore us apart" when we played Scotland in the Glory Days of Holger.
The fact that he looked like Uncle Fester and used to play for Rangers seemed to delight the Celtic fans.

Pretty obivous why they didnt sign Forster = age and thus less years value from the transfer and no resale value. 

Sure hindsight is a wonderful thing but in foresight the move for Barkas made sense vs Forster. Guy had just started getting caps for Greece and been starter for AEK and is young and on the up. The move made sense at the time

Age?? He was what at the time - 31?? 32?? That isn't old for a keeper.  We all know keepers play several more seasons than their outfield counterparts.

There was no downside or risk at signing Forster, as he had proven his worth many times over. He was always reliable, and had guaranteed that he can win the team 10+ points just on his own.

But you are right.... It is pretty obvious why they didn't sign him.... They wanted, and gambled that they could land him on another loan deal – And they (and us) lost because of it.
