Haha definitely not a parallel universe.. Celtic still conceded against Aberdeen.

I don't know.... 2 clean sheets since.

Good 2-0 win for Celtic against Ferencvaros. All reports say they could have scored five or six, and CalMac missed a pen. Hart apparently made a few good saves though, to be fair.

Could have/should have, but didn't. That said, I'm just happy with the win, and a second clean sheet in a row. That can be a foundation that can be built on. Especially with the injured players list reducing in size with each passing week (probably just cursed the team with that comment😬).

Hopefully everything will be in good running order in time of the upcoming hectic fixture period with 6 or 7 matches in the upcoming two weeks. Followed by a couple of weeks off (I'm guessing an International window??). Then it is time for the crazy holiday period to start – Where we will be playing at a MINIMUM of 11 matches (depends on Cup results, which could add an extra match or two) over the last 4½ to 5 weeks of the calendar year.

It will be over these periods of the season that will determine whether the team has a realistic chance at challenging for the title or not.

🇮🇪Hail Hail🇮🇪

Ange is way too sensitive to be a top flight coach. In European football that is a major hinderance.

Umm, Mourinho? I am not comparing Ange to Mourinho in terms of success or ability but just saying that ‘sensitive’ or edgy or emotional coaches can and do, do well. Sir Alex was also known to get a bit prickly with journalists and players as well. I’ll be honest, I actually don’t understand the point you are trying to make. If it’s as simple as you don’t to think he will do well in Europe, fair enough, but because he is too ‘sensitive’. Really, what do you mean?

I really hope he does the doubters wrong... Interestingly saw a comment today that Ange is the first Australian coach to have ever won a Europa League tie .....

Is he not the only one to have participated also ?

And clearly during these busy periods it helps to have a deep squad with two players for every position. As you say, several players coming back from long term injury so the squad depth is improving. I’ll be interested to see when Julien and Forrest are ready and what impact they make.

I’ve never followed Celtic before, but Turnbull has a knack for scoring unusual goals. Either a mess like his goal yesterday or a belter from 35 yards out. He seems like a good player who must frustrate fans.

Also the only Australian coach to have won 2 major continental trophies  - Oceania Championship and Asian Federation Cup...... Once he scoops the double in SPL and wins Europa he can head down to Boca Juniors for a real challenge..... :)

I'm not Postecoglou's biggest fan but Jesus H Christ does this Celtic squad have more than its fair share of coach-killers. Its the players jobs to put the chances away, the managers job to set them up to create the chances.  Right now, its the players that ere fucking him over, rather than the other way around.

Certain players sure.

Others like Kyogo have arguably kept him in the job far.

There was one game they lost recently where they hit the post once and the cross bar 3 times. And missed 2 tap ins. You'd be pulling your hair out.

The team is definitely not the kindest to it's supporter's when it comes to our mental health and/or nervous system. I'm sure I have Bipolar due to following the club all these years 😟

Not sure i agree with that. His biggest weakness is his refusal to be tactically flexible and only sticking to one way of playing. Most top European coaches adjust the way they play to the team they are playing, unless you are coaching City, Madrid, Bayern, Barca or Liverpool who are expected to dominate and win every game they play domestic or abroad. He even doubled down on this philosophy with his Maccas quote.

This weakness was shown when he coached the Socceroos and even when they were struggling against teams like Thailand, Ange refused to change the system to the more successful 4-3-3 he won the Asian Cup with.

Yep, and then stuck to it no matter what even when it was not working. We were more successful with the 4-3-3 (won the asian cup with it) but he refused to revert back to it when we needed to. It would have given him at least 2 tactical set ups

People talk about coaches like every decision has to be the right one. Whether you agree with the tactical set up or not, Australia didn't and doesn't have a better coach than Ange and we should have trusted him. Graham is not a better coach than him.

Never said he was a bad coach, or that Graham is better. I said his inflexibility is his greatest weakness and all the top coaches in the world are able to tweak their tactics based on their squad and team. It is the difference between him being a Sam Allardyce and Thomas Tuchel. Both are good managers, but one is a lot better than the other.

I remember that Thailand home game in the 2018 WCQ where we needed a big win to automatically qualify and we hit the post like 3 or 4 times as well as several other sitters.

Ange was in charge then so seems like its a running theme 🤔😁

Yeah, he quit from the NT he had previously played for,  and coached at a world cup quite admirably, and  AFTER winning the Asian Cup and struggling to qualify for 2018 with a bunch of donkeys... he quit 2 x weeks after securing qualification despite having a team who would go and embarras tbe whole nation with 1 point and 2 penalties to show for themselves in Russia ......... Sure OK....

The issue wasn't the missed shots in that game, i remember that game like it was yesterday, we couldn't buy a goal.
we had 45 shots, the issue was ange chased the 4 goals, even when it wasn't our night and we nearly ended with a draw, because we dropped a defender for a attacker. it was pure stupidity.

Ange quit NT. It’s a fact. And pretty much the same ‘bunch of donkeys’ in squad for Wcup that won ACup (Jedinak, Sainsbury, Milligan, Luongo, Cahill, Juric, Kruse, etc) so can’t just blame the players for a qualification effort that came within literally inches of failing against Syria

Sure OK....

So, being one of only three countries to score against France in the World Cup was embarassing? (The other 2 being Argentina, and Croatia.)
Being able to take a point off the Danes, a team that drew with both the WC champs and Runners up that year(and is currently 8-0-0 3 years later) is embarassing.

pull your head out of your arse. Our hands-down weakest team, that had to work to with a new coach and new system, pulled a rabbit out of a hat, and ensured we weren't embarrassed.

Our goal difference of -3 was comparable or better than 7 other teams, that's not to say it's great, but this was one of the worst team's Australia had taken to a WC

Ange is a coward.
