No news at all regarding interested clubs. It'll build up very soon with rumours and maybe something more concrete.

At 29 will he do a Jason Cullina and head back home? Would be brilliant for the A League. Especially if Luongo is also heading home as has been reported.

got to be China. They normally pretty loud about these things though.
16 trophies though in his time there, not many pros have that many.

How many ‘marquee’ players can they have with Leckie already there? Would be great to see Rogic return to Mariners

If it's back to AL then I would have thought Sydney FC would be the most obvious choice with Corica talking about a squad overhaul, especially if Ninkovic departs. Would seem like he would slot into that role no problem. And if several depart they have money to spend.

They aren’t ditching marquees they are bringing in 35 of them! It will put ‘bums on seats’ apparently. Why do I get the feeling that we’ve been down that road before.

Pele, Beckenbauer,Cruyff, Muller, even Georgie Best...... world class names but the bums didn't tend to stay in their seats in the US.... but nearly 50 years later Danny Trainwreck and the APL know better..

https://10play.com.au/round-ball-rules/web-extras/2022/exclusive-tom-rogic-interview/tpv220514yokiaInterview. He rules out the A League. He'll chat with his agent in the coming weeks. He said he's looking for a new challenge so hopefully that rules out the money leagues.

Does anyone else think this is totally weird? Players very rarely just announce they are leaving a club seemingly with no specific plan. Rogic: “Hey Ange, I want to leave.” Ange: “Oh, ok., no worries. Where are you going?” Rogic: “Dunno, anything will be better than here.”

I wonder if the Mariners had a sell on clause? And if so will it be triggered 10 years on?

Would put money on MLS but who knows. Can think of a number of teams he would fit with and lots of familiarity between MLS and Scottish clubs. Don’t see him jumping to the continent.

There’s just no way a very decent player announces departure without a new club already mapped out?! Rogic probably has new club/s already willing to sign him but just being tight lipped. At least he made a positive impact at a big club and finishing on a high

Sounds to me that this may be a Cantona situation. Made enough money for a lifetime and sick of chasing a ball around a rectangle of grass.

Tom is on a high salary and probably doesn’t totally suit Ange’s style, he’s had a good innings there and it was probably my mutual consent to move on. He will have no shortage of suitors so I don’t think its unusual to announce you’re leaving so you can have one last hoorah before the fans at Celtic Park. I find it a bit strange all the talk about him going to the MLS or A league when he’s in peak career form. He could probably earn similar wages in either England, Germany, France etc and play at a respectable level. Brett Holman moved to the EPL at a similar age and there’s no way he’s a better player than Tom.
