I am predicting a more entertaining game than the traditional cagey cup finals.

Both teams to play attacking football and try to control the game in the front half of the pitch.

Roar to win because we are back to playing football and we are the Roar.

SFC 2 - 3 Roar

Brisbane is second best in the Victorian game, second best in the Sydney game - here's hoping we are first in the Australian game!

Carn the Roar

That's the shot

Tonight is the final.

Edit: Bloody hell - it is tomorrow night not tonight. Too eager.

Really hard to get a feel for anything in the Cup about form and expectation. It is almost like two teams meeting out of the blue with no season behind the competition to see consistency week in week out and form against specific opponents.

Looking forward to it, somewhat obviously, but a bit funny to be having little idea about how we will face up to SFC and how either team will perform on the night.

I am just waiting for someone to put the L in our sponsors name if we ever lose another game though ;)

When I wear their colours, I am the club.

From the Scottish Sun

A FORMER top flight footballer has claimed they were abused by prolific paedophile Gordon Neely in the Rangers dressing room.
The ex-Gers starlet alleged he was indecently assaulted by the depraved monster on a number of occasions in the late 1980s.
Neely was unmasked as a warped beast in a report into sexual abuse within football which had been commissioned by the SFA.
It was found he abused at least three other youngsters at Rangers - and also sexually attacked footie hopefuls at Hibernian and Hutchison Vale.
Speaking to The Times, the youngster said he was scared he would be let go by Rangers if he spoke out about being assaulted by the Ibrox club’s head of youth development.
The player said: “Neely abused me five or six times in the manager’s dressing room at Ibrox.
“I’d dreamed of playing for Rangers since I was a child and was scared I’d be let go if I told anyone, so I said nothing.
“I was a Rangers fan growing up and I didn’t want to stop playing. I was confused and didn’t know what was going on.”
The starlet alleges Neely accused him of drinking at the weekend when he was 15 - before saying he could either accept a punishment or lose his place in the team.

Rangers told the BBC in 2017 that Neely was sacked and reported to the police and later told The Sun: "It was important Rangers took both steps without delay to address this matter."

A spokesperson for the club blasted the reports as "sensationalist," adding: "BBC Scotland’s reporting on these horrific incidents and, in particular, its sensationalist and unfair accusation of a cover up by Rangers is disgraceful."

Rangers based its prior description as to what occurred on trusted first-hand accounts from those with personal knowledge of what took place and the appropriate steps taken at that time."To suggest, as BBC Scotland has done, that these are invalidated by a short, filler piece in the Rangers News written almost 30 years ago by someone who clearly had no knowledge of the events, or the reasons for Neely’s sacking is nonsense. Indeed, it is shameful."The spokesperson added: "The important people

here are the victims of abuse and we owe it to them to deal sensitively and supportively with the issues they raise."

"Rangers will do all it can to assist in offering support and counselling to anyone affected. Their wellbeing should be at the centre of every right thinking person’s concern."

If he was still alive then he should have been jailed.

Stein sacked Torbett the FIRST time, but never phoned the polis. This was said in a court of law.

Bennell had nothing to do with Rangers, Neely was done at Hibs, sacked at Rangers when it was known.

And the same SFA who won’t hold an investigation into the CBC scandal.

Bennell and Neely were facts.

BJK is hun fiction.

The SFA labeled the song "morally repugnant."

You're really stretching it here, mono.

Not really mate.... "the sport" has never been more engaged in or financial steady  in ALL of it history...
Playing numbers, club health (outside of the Aleague) and national team performance all pretty strong wouldn't you say?
Add the fact that the FA is cashed up to the eyeballs and now looking to make the next leap in broadcasti deal levels, local faclity funding is FINALLY on the up and they are even in a strong enough position to be actively engaging in a second national division..... all great indicators of a healthy football ecosystem in my opinion ..... finally.

11 foreign owned franchises, nominally based in Australia, in a closed off series of events is a very very very small part of Australian football....

Well BUGGER. That's all I've got to say about Suncorp being off the list. I would have hoped for a 27k capacity crowd at Skilled Park, Robina if that was an option to keep our chances of a home final but maybe that is not available either.

I would like to think that a Suncorp hosted final would have a huge attendance for the final of the Australia Cup - despite it 'just' being the Cup.

Brisbane is well known for turning up to events, and I for one would not care how many day trippers came - to have a good number in attendance always helps the appearance of the game and the atmosphere even when most of them are mute. And what a boost to the start of Roar's season if we can pull out a win.

We find out hosting tomorrow (Tuesday) according to Keepup and the commentators of the Knights/Roar game.

I can't escape the 'NSW hosting rights' haunting feeling, but I am going on record saying it will be a fair draw to determine hosting rights the same as every other game in the Cup has been.

When I wear their colours, I am the club.

Better crowds means better exposure. The Australia cup deserves that but it is what it is I enjoyed both matches yesterday the final should be good

Finals are usually cagey games for the neutral mate, seldom any good..... Good luck, sorry I will be cheering on the Roar for the VIC NPL contingent if nothing else :)
