Looking at Germany U20 and 21 and most nations for that matter, their defenders are playing first team football at high levels. It's just sad our U20 national team selected players won't even be considered to grow in the A League.
The past cohort was good so maybe it just takes an extra year or two to kick on.

That’s partly because of two reasons. 1. The defence is the weakest position by far. 2. Some of the players tat have played A-League weren’t picked in the squad,

Auckland have announced the signings of 6 scholarship players, all of whom are Kiwi’s playing in NZ.
They are Luis Toomey, Liam Gillion, Finn McKenlay, Adams Coulibaly, Jonty Bidois and Oliver Middleton.

Thats got to change, their development would be alot quicker if they played senior football sooner and it would help also the Olyroos down the track as well.

It's not just U20 National team players. Young defenders seem to flourish with game time in the ALM like Sainsbury, Wllkinson and Rowles. They have all done reasonably well over their career. Triantis also got a lot of game time and I see him as a future Socceroo.

Would they play senior football sooner if they had been playing 30-40 games a season from the age of 15+?

All current information indicates the NST will be a fully professional league. That means approx 200-250 players will be training and playing in a professional capacity. Given the budget of the squads, we can assume the bulk number of those players will be under 21. Assuming FA don't shoot themselves in the foot (I know big assumption), we will almost definitely see a dramatic change within only a season or two.

Assuming Aleague academy players might get loaned out to get experience if they are not part of the aleague senior squads so it should help. I guess we will find out soon, it’s been very quiet on the NSD since late last year.

Maty Ryan with rumours to Derby County. Would be a solid move in their quest to avoid relegation. Keeps one sharp having plenty to do in goal. I'd be happy with that move.

They can't change it but I hate this time of year when players bounce around from club to club. Just find it hard to support a player when they have played for a rival

Ito and Anton both departed Stuttgart. Had a thought that maybe Stuttgart could temp Faes. They'd be foolish too but anything to boost Souttar's chances. It's all contingent in the discussions with Cooper.

+xRyan Strain has signed a two year deal with Dundee United. What a weird move he'd be better off at st mirren isn't it?

That's an incredibly underwhelming move for Strain as English clubs were interested. Still, he'll be playing regularly and perhaps he likes living in Scotland.

Strain and Baccus must have the worst agents going around, both such underwhelming moves after outstanding contributions at St Mirren.
St Mirren also have European football this coming season which they will both miss out on for Dundee Utd and League One. Crazy.

You've got to wonder how all parties saw the future. Did both Australians want to leave? Were St Mirren too poor to meet wage demands? You could argue poor retention strategy by St Mirren.
While European football is the lure, Grazor kindly analysed that League One teams play a much better football with 12? teams in the league achieving over 800 passes to just the big 4 in the SPL. Lower SPL is mid to high League 2. Mansfield have been playing really intensively and are now finally up.
It's all water under a bridge now. Strain's move feels the weirder one but maybe he just wanted to stay in Scotland itself.

Zilch in regards to Iredale move. Really curious ans a bit nervous about it. Victory and Mariners fans touting him online. Just not enough football available as yet. Were he to start every game and get 15 scorer points then it'd be alright but the European Leagues still have a lot of football available.

I did hear he had an attitude at the socceroos camp in the past. it's just a uninspiring move
