I think Popa deserves this thread so we can say No to Popa Out. I agree that he chose a lesser squad and not the players I would have chosen in the positions I would have chosen. That's football and oddly enough I am not getting paid to be a national team manager despite my obvious footbaw intelligence. My biggest beef with Arnie was the style of play and choices he made to enforce that style. Popa played much more open attacking football and put players in that he thought would do that. I am happy for him to play 6 defensive minded players and 4 attacking players - but only as long as some of the defenders can bridge the gap between the two groups. A reasonable level of forward intent and watchable football is all I want, and it was a good start by Popa - especially in the second half when he made changes that supported the type of play I want to see.
