THANK YOU PIM! I just hope the next coach can take it from here with the same success as you have give us all. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Pim's Oz Farewell? PIM Verbeek has spoken of his love of Australia and the admiration he has for his players ahead of his final game as Socceroos coach on home soil.Have your say.

Pim has done what he was asked to do, with aplomb. Congratulations Pim, and good luck on your North African sojourn!
Time to bring in a manager who is willing to mould the next generation immediately after the World Cup finishes.

thanks for the results Pim but that is all, you can take your lone striker formation and shove it.
Feel sorry for NZ tonight, we Aussies didn't perform but take nothing away from the Kiwi's especially after the kind of challenges we did in the first half.
Our more experienced players should be ashamed of how they went about it out there tonight.

Kiwis deserved to take something away from the game, unlucky. Shocking 1st half, 2nd half we played with alot more urgency. Holman scored the winning goal hahahahahaha! Well done Brett. Not a very convincing performance, Moore is shit and should never have been in the squad, our defence really looked shakey, something Pim will have to tweak. Why didn't Carle get a run? Mel McLaughlin, I effing LOVE YOU! Marry me bitch!

Japan and Australia are just two examples of what a difference a good manager makes..Pim's brand of stodgy football is something that I won't miss, personally. He did his job I suppose, but then again that is what he is being paid to do.I hope the next coach can shift it up a gear and bring out a bit of flair and brains.

Good riddance, hopefully the next manager isn't one dimensional and is willing to mould his tactics to suit the team, not the other way around. Hope the Moroccans kids enjoy the 4-3-2-1 formation and hope they have a striker like Viduka or Drogba, or else they're screwed

Now about getting rid of this Dutch ideal of Football. Anyone know of a descent coach, not afraid to change things up, willing to try different numbers up front.
Sure Pim got results but so did the Germans in the 70's and 80's and they were boring as batshit to watch. Score single goal and DEFEND!
Pims style was a little different with his allow the opposition to smother you then jag a win or a draw in the death. Beautiful football was not his style.

He brings respectability and gravitas to the team. According to the players he also seems to be a good man manager. However, he seems to have used Henk Duut's 433 national player development tactical framework as a bible. Maybe this is the FFAs doing and Pim would have made different decisions in the absence of pressure from on high?
