This was the worst Brazil team I have seen play in a world cup. Dunga had them playing dour, boring football and they got what they deserved. There wasn't a single star performer in their squad.
Just 8 years ago they had the likes of Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos ripping it up. Who do they have now?...Ney Fabiano, Filipe Melo and a miserable shadow of Kaka.

What horrible discipline by Felipe Melo. You are trailing by 1 goal, with about 20 minutes left and you do something stupid like that. Why?

Brazil dominated the first half, and were ripping Netherlands apart, but credit to them they fought back and in the end deserved their victory.

I'm sure he wished he had Ronaldhino sitting on the bench with about 15 minutes to go.

Not sure why this is a big shock. Its the first hard game brazil have had all tournament and they cracked.

I certainly wouldn't call Chile not hartd.

Leaning toward the Dutch even I thought Brasil should have had a penalty just after they had scored. The Nederlands defender got the man first>then the ball.
I'm still hoping for a Spain v Holland final.

Yeah only have to beat the minnows of Germany and most likely Spain and Holland to win the World Cup, Merry Christmas indeed!

haha maybe i was abit over the top with my statement but in my defence it was 4am in the morning probably wasnt at my peak of intelligence. Was more meaning to comment on how the draw is very lopsided thanks to brazil, france and england flopping and youd think whoever wins out of germany/spain/argentina to get to the final will have extremely high confidence and will go on to win. Out of them argentina seem to have the superior combination of experience and form to do it.

What a great game of football and restored my faith in the world cup and helped me finally get over the Socceroos being knocked out.

Brazil was absolutely brilliant in the first 20 mins – I’ve never seen such fluid attcking play from everyone on the team from fullbacks to strikers; the Brazilians showed exquisite levels of skill, passing and football excitement.
It was only a matter of time till they scored a brilliant goal. They could have had another couple except for some brilliant Dutch defense.

The Dutch held on courageously and Robben started to find some space and turned on some samba magic of his own – was a real headache for his marker.

Second half and another fantastic transformation as Brazil attacked, but the Dutch kept playing the ball around – finally a goal after another Robben foul and free kick. Skimmed the Brazilian defender and beat his own goalkeeper into the corner of the net.

One all and game on – the Dutch kept playing football and the Brazilians started getting frustrated and the first time in the tournament the prospect of Brazil being beaten turned the game.

Holland kept pressuring and finally got the winner – Brazil even with 10 men pressed for the equaliser but just didn’t get the lucky break on goal they needed and even let the Dutch in for another couple of chances as they pressed forward.

The Dutch triumphed 2-1 in one of the best world cup football games I’ve seen for a long, long time.

Uruguay next for Holland in the first semi, but I’m not going to hazard a guess for the other 2 semi finalists.

I’m just going to curl up in my favourite lounge chair and enjoy the rest of the tournament.
Argentina, Germany and Spain, Paraguay to come tonight.

Some of the best football you can ever hope to watch.

Gotta agree with a few others on here, great game defo the best of 2010 so far.. Still tonight's Argy v Krout showdown should be awesome too..
Dutch won gutsy but dont think they have enough class to take down any of the other teams remaining, Brazil just lost thier minds and if they had played like they did in the first half all game would have been like 4-0 to them.

I think most would be tipping the Dutch to get past Uruguay at least.

They may not have the 'class' of some of the other teams, but their resolve and team spirit is looking stronger and more focused than any other squad's... and when things get tight that's what gets you through.

The WC could be in Antarctica and Brazil would still be favourites. It doesn't matter where it is Brazil are always favourites.

I'm right behind the Dutch. It is time a new team wins and the Dutch have made the Final 3 times without winning.

But can they beat Germany? It's going to be very hard.
