Yeah this all came about because of the injury he suffered when Dan Smith smashed his ankle. Something about the bones never being able to heal fully.

I think Wenger has previously mentioned he never gained full mobility after the surgery to fix it, poor guy. Could have been a very good midfielder if he could actually make it on the pitch consistently.

That kind of injury would have resulted in a pin in his leg which would have gone through the growth plate (the section of bone that generates bone). Obviously at the age of 20 he wasn't finished developing and one leg ends up shorter than the other.

So some great news ahead of Norwich tomorrow with Santi, Sagna and Özil all declared fit. Means our injury list is now just down to Ox, Theo, Poldi, Diaby and Sanogo.

I feel for us as well.
I think he could've been Yaya Toure sort of level for us without the injuries.
We've seen glimpses of that when he's been in form. In his last run of games he was immense. He was like Jack Wilshere and Alex Song in one.

A career well and truly ruined.

I really don't think it's appropriate at all.

If there is any consolation, he is a bright guy and therefore capable of making a life outside football and the wages he earned at Arsenal should be a very nice starting point.
