Quote:"Well, I think Southampton made the game very physical," the Arsenal manager said. "We lost too many challenges and that explains why we lost the game. But that's one aspect, so well done to them.
"The second aspect is that on the first three goals we were really unlucky with the decision of the referee.
"The first goal was offside, the second goal was a foul and third goal was a goal kick, so if you're a bit below par and on top of that you have the first three goals against you in the decision-making then it's even more difficult.
"On top of that, well done Southampton and I hope in the next game we have this kind of decisions for us." Wenger gracious in defeat as always

Well tbf he's right in that the first 3 goals all came from refereeing errors  I mean the 3rd one is a minor error that happens every game everywhere in the world, but the first 2 goals 100% should never have been allowed.
I mean he does also say well done to Southampton for winning the battle, but yeah lets just ignore that

He can't just say 'we were fucking terrible', always has to make up some excuse for losing or point out some refereeing error. It really is pathetic how he constantly gets away with it.

Did you even read the quote you posted, or did you just skip the first few sentences? He said we lost because of losing too many challenges, he even says 'that explains why we lost the game'. That's before he even mentions the referee, which he doesn't use as an excuse for losing, just that when you don't play well and have bad decisions go against you it makes it harder. What's pathetic is this desire to completely misrepresent what he actually said. I mean yeah he pointed out referee errors, but only because they directly lead to 3 goals, which I think is worth at least mentioning. He also could have brought up the fact that Wanyama could very easily have been sent off and that Shane Long definitely should have. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 28/12/2015 02:51:36 PM

On Elneny, signing him makes sense and more to do with Flamini and Arteta coming to the end of their time at the club than anything else. Also not cup-tied for CL which is a bonus for the 2 games left in it.

Seen players sent off plenty of times for kicking out like Wanyama did and the trip on Koscielny that led to Long's 1st goal should have been his 2nd yellow card. I don't really think that's farfetched or hard to argue at all

I don't really think that's farfetched or hard to argue at all I'd be more worried about how inept every aspect of the game was for Arsenal rather than details which are now irrelevant. It does happen in every game though where arguments could be made over calls/non-calls. It's just amusing how Arsenal and their whiney fans in particular react every time, it's like clockwork  Edit: I miss kengooner on here, top Gooner and great for a meltdown :p Edited by bethfc: 28/12/2015 03:34:11 PM

A nice confident home win and watch everyone having a meltdown completely forget about Boxing Day

Here's Poch, as Southampton manager, doing exactly what Arsene did, ironically in a match against Sp*rs  http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/referee-could-have-done-better-pochettino#:SVuk6y57genRcA

I stand corrected.
Just think it's a bit rich when you say it after a 4-0 loss but each to their own. Always tough when emotions are high etc

Ozil :d
Felt that was Ox's best game for a while and glad to see the midfield of Chambers and Rambo worked. Chambers I thought was very good apart from a few misplaced passes. It's only a matter of time before Gabriel is starting regularly next to Koscielny.
Now here's hoping for a draw between City and Leicester tomorrow.

Top of the league to finish 2015
Imo our next 6 away games will decide whether we win the title or not. Liverpool, Stoke, Chelsea, Bournemouth, United, Sp*rs and Everton with a couple games against some team named Barcelona thrown in for good measure.

Seems as if we may be recalling Jenks, would make sense with Arsene saying it's not impossible that Debuchy leaves in January.
A few people who are usually in the know seem to think we'll get Elneny and 1 or 2 other players in January, which again makes sense with Arsene saying we will be busy in January.

Feel for debuchy . Injury hit him at wrong time but it gave us the chance to see bellerin shine.

Debuchy wanting to leave is understandable with the Euros in France coming up, will need to be playing regularly.

LOL at Wenger putting Ozil's season down to working out in the gym and attitude. Arsene mate, you were the only person in the world who though it a good thing to play the best CAM of his generation out wide expecting to him to track back against speedy wingers.
Imagine his assist tally if Arsenal had strikers who could actually finish.
