It's positive news - and perhaps the most positive aspect of this thread, for me, is that a Greek supporter from Sydney started up a pro-Knights thread. For those who obsess over the ethnic rivalry in 'old sokkah' this is a perfect example of the "we're all in this together" mentality amongst 'traditional' football clubs at the moment.

After all the doom and gloom that MK seemed to be coming out with themselves, this is a great result.

Maybe they should spend more on players then. Having a profit of $150K is no good if you are playing State League.

They still have a big debt from the NSL days so I believe their priority is to reduce this before any other expenses.

I wouldn't know.

But as General said, the money goes to the club not the stadium.

That term can be very loosely interpreted...

Go on...

Just saying, a prominent VPL club which was thought by all to be doing well, had someone taking the 'proceeds' of game day (such as bar and food takings) and siphnoning them away.

Won't name the VPL club publically though.

I've heard of that happening at Altona, no idea how credible the source was though and i reckon it would happen to some extent at a few clubs

Happens to a lot of clubs and not just soccer clubs, cricket, hockey, rugby league, Aussie Rules, all aren't immune to this. It's the nature of non-full time professional clubs.

I am confused, do you mean that they are not making money from the food and pourage?

That is good to see. I long for the day when A-League clubs (or a large percentage of them) are living withing their means. Club owned stadiums is must as far as this is concerned .

Interesting. In both situations, it is excellent for the club. Are Melbourne Knights full or semi-pro?
