Then had his best game ever on the weekend. Football hey. Bold above said it all and comments would be the same for any other fans on players in their club not performing, he has been under the radar for so long prior due to his lack lustre performances that you forgot about him at times  no doubt a good player taking a long time to settle in thats for sure hopefully he has crossed that bridge now and plays to last weeks level week in week out :)

I'd be surprised if that new contract doesn't have an actual release clause in it.

There's still a lot of work for him to do but his performance last week was a sign he's headed in the right direction.

3-1 is a comfortable result and a decent win but when you consider the turbulent week that Cardiff had and that we hit the woodwork 3 times we really should have put them to the sword.
Definitely getting nervous about the Man City game and how we manage Aguero and friends. Every time I think about it all I can think is how on paper we're horribly outgunned.

The Man City game is probably the one game I've been fearing the most.
Still will be awesome to hear that Yaya Kolo chant back to forth. But I get the feeling we'll be knocked off our high horse.

Got the job done, Cardiff have shown they can really step up and fight against the bigger teams. Two big tests coming our way not only the teams but the short turnaround between games too. Really looking forward to it actually.

Jovetic has been injured all season hasn't he? So glad we didn't go for him.
Going to take something special to get something out of the game at Etihad, the gulf in quality between their midfield and yours should be enough for them. But plz take points off them.

Well we sure have had sound performances in recent years vsing Citeh - this current squad is just starting to gell and I agree JLM we may lack a little more quality/skill BUT to date we have overcome this with driving counter attacks and converting a good % of these thanks to Luis/Sturridge (< I know out) and Sterling + others converting to a lesser degree. Lucas has been the quiet assasin and this will be his biggest challenge coming up breaking down their attack (Silva) going to be a cracker of a game as can be seen by the recent tussles below with a squad not as rounded as we currently have. Skytl will also need to play the game of his life just glad Aguero is out ! but they have a host of other options that will deliver as seen of late, outscoring everyone. I imagine Johnson at LB to cover Zabaleta's right flank raids, going to be a cracker game looking forward seeing us after this good run playing one of the real contenders for the title. Quote:I imagine Johnson at LB to cover Zabaleta's right flank raids, Zabaleta is out. Thank christ, because he's a very big player for them. Lucas needs to take Silva out and also help the fullbacks out big time - the way our midfield has been playing recently he's kind of been sweeping behind Hendo and Allen and not pressing much so this should mean he's able to do as above and help the fullbacks. Hendo is crucial again, he and Allen have to press the shit out of Yaya and Fernandinho, but Hendo has to also get forward and distract the defence to help Suarez/Cou/Sterling have some space to work their magic. Sakho v Negredo will be a clash of giants  I'm very worried about the fullbacks - Navas and Nasri could be their key, but with Suarez we have the ability to create something out of nothing. Playing at Etihad is absolutely terrifying though, would absolutely love to get a draw out of this one. No lapses in concentration like for Mutch's goal. Just hoping Suarez can go up 1v1 against Demichelis and he may have some joy.

Oh I didn't recall Zabaleta out this is good ! damn their depth is good ! Lucas will play just as you posted imno he'll be relishing this challenge but as you mention its our backs holding on to the task - I'm worried of the Beast getting pulled up for a pen. No matter the daunting task ahead at Etihad on counters we will scare the be jesus out of them no doubt about it and hopefully punish them [-o< - a draw would be great but between these 2 combined GF of 93 x 17games thats 5.4goals on average per game. Everyone needs to play the perfect role lets face it and I'm hoping Mignolet leads the way pumping the guys up.

End of the day when you're looking at this game at the start of the season it's not a game you expect to take points from.
If we get anything it's a plus. If we lose I just hope it's not humiliation, but they've been in incredible scoring form.
We'll definitely concede just hoping we can hit the net a few times ourselves

Before that he'd only played in 3 games of a possible 9 for just 87 mins.

Last time we were top at christmas we followed it up with one win in six games. Let's not blow it this time.

Wouldn't mind really, target at start of season was top 4 - anything better than that is a bonus.

Season defining match coming up! The odds are very much against us given it's City @ home, but a draw at least will go along way (need at least a win against City or Chelsea).

Is that like saying Man Utd's next game is the start of their season? GL with Europa League at best next season. Quote me/sig me.

If they win, great result but I don't see how it will change expectations from a top 4 finish to a title winning season. It's one game in December.

I'm probably mostly hoping we don't have a horrible run between now and the end (or any worse than this season). Either way a win/draw combination against those two will be defining in some way... Unless we go to shit really.
