Well lets get back on track fellas..... Good to see the little Brazilian is back ! Philippe Coutinho in Liverpool squad for Europa League game against Sion • Brazil playmaker trained with squad after missing last four matches • Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and Alberto Moreno have not made the trip The Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho has travelled with the squad for their final Europa League group game against Sion in Switzerland. The Brazil international has missed the last four matches with a hamstring injury but trained with the rest of the squad at Melwood before the team departed. Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and Alberto Moreno also trained but have not made the trip, with Jordon Ibe not taking part or travelling because of illness while striker Daniel Sturridge has already been ruled out for a number of weeks with a hamstring strain sustained in Sunday’s defeat at Newcastle. Moreno’s absence could mean a start for 21-year-old left-back Brad Smith, whose future at the club looked to be over after he rejected a new contract in the summer. The club stood firm in their stance, holding on to his registration, and Smith and his representatives relented and agreed a new deal in November. The manager Jürgen Klopp’s other alternative is to play right-back Nathaniel Clyne on the opposite flank and deploy Connor Randall on the right. As the team were preparing to fly out from John Lennon airport the club announced Randall – and third-choice goalkeeper Ryan Fulton – have signed new contracts which extend their stays until the summer of 2019.

Well, old news gained the draw as known v's Sion next stage. Haven't seen this morns game v's Brom, another draw, shame whilst others above have dropped a point or 3 a draw doesn't help but keep us just out of reach, mind you 5points from 4th is at this stage of the season is ok. I'll watch the replay the coming night/s. Next 2 games will be telling, Watford away followed by Leicester at home.

Well what can you say :) , seeing a table with Leicester Watford Palace in the top end of the table sure hasn't been the norm  I have lol'd long ago who has and ends up above us over the many years of late regardless. The lack of consistency from most of the usual suspects has really kept the ladder tight, good for us not complaining. And how this,Leicester - 1 loss only, yet has more GA than us for eg. Bournemouth - near on worst GA yet scalps chelsea/manu

It will end up being, in no particular order, Arsenal, City, probably Leicester and then whoever else can put a decent run together at some stage

jlm they deserved the win full stop, good luck to them. To think I was up to watch the game in the hope of us performing and taking the points  Bogdans mishandling of an easy corner take set the path in stone - you could tell easily. 2nd to the ball, our passing was shyte, we were out enthused near on the whole game ! Our defense was woeful, giving the ball away easily, near on everything you don't wish to happen did !! Losing Skrtl was another nail. Sakho was on another planet, what was he thinking at times I thought. Worst I have seen in a while, what a time to dish that crap up when those 3points would have been gold. Klopp was going off very early in the game sensing we weren't on it.......... Edited by M.L.: 21/12/2015 08:45:50 PM

The players come to this club and hear about the big teams they've defeated and the big games they've won that make up this clubs' big history. It's been a problem since Rafa was in charge. It's not Man United or Arsenal or (more recently) City that concern me- you know the players are aware of what a high-profile scalp those teams present and play accordingly. It's the small teams, the "nothing" games. They need some sort of motivation to play at their best- they need to give Palace, Bournemouth and Norwich the same respect as the aforementioned teams. So on that note....I'd say we'll beat Leicester next weekend. You watch... It's the next time we play a shit team at home that I'm more worried about. Bring on the transfer window! There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

Interesting to see what happens to the back line on boxing day. Assuming Kolo will come in but there is talk Lovren may be fit.

Edited by Captain Haddock: 21/12/2015 11:55:05 PM Not here to gloat, but I wonder what the result would be if it wasn't table-topping Leicester but normal mid/ lower-table Leicester? I'd actually like Klopp to get a hypnotist in, convince the squad Leicester were battling relegation and then see what the result would be...

It's alright, we'll just lose to Southampton instead  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Correction - hammered :d So, chalk and cheese compared to previous game, we Wanted the Win ! Everyone played sound with stand outs typically the Continho, he twists, turns into space, shoots, every bloody thing deserved a goal ! love the guy. I'm eating it from comments in the past but Lovren was a Beast ! Sakho very sound the whole backline. Mignolet also was great - saved a great point blank hit and some. Origi started, was giving them a tuff time, unfortunately hammy tear mid/late first half Benteke came on. He put in the lone goal very well but many other times seems not sure where to be or hesitant with the trigger, blew a sitter last 5min with only goali to beat. Passing was crisp, hardly a bad pass tbh whole game, we chased them down nothing like being on the hunt. Whole squad played great great win ! 5 from the 4.

We are tragically mediocre this season. As predicted earlier, we are a mid-table club at best and will be lucky to finish 8th this season.
We won't win anything until we buy the best players.

Sure, we need a few more higher quality players but Klopp will get the best out what we have for now. Won't change overnight, Jan window nothing much I expect but IF can finish near or surprisingly 4th that could change lots of things for the following season but for now it is what it is. The 4 above us right now, manu, watford, palace and spurs - not much better than us imo, being consistent is the key for all. If we can knock off sunderland then hammers before meeting arse other results could really help by late Jan. I'm not expecting the world just keeping optimistic.

I've been trying to be optimistic about Liverpool for about 20 years.
We used to be able to be a top 5 team comfortably without anything special. Now in the EPL the quality of the other teams is much higher and they are beginning to take over.
We get excited about signing Benteke, who has done ok, but I want to be signing Lewandovski, Costa, Ibrahimovic, Neymar, Suarez, Ronaldo.
These are the players that win titles. And if you can't afford it, then you stop being a little bitch and fork out some more money. Cos everyone has a price.
I wanna be the best in Europe like we used to be.

Line up for the game coming up : Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino, Benteke. Substitutes: Bogdan, Toure, Randall, Lucas, Smith, Teixeira, Ibe. and I thought Lovren was out for more weeks ? unless this is an error. Give me/us a good NY'sEve start please !
