He's taken his eye off the ball a bit. Still, amazing knock in this test match. Also good to see my favorite player, Hussey, playing well and making his century.

He'd have a declaration target in mind, but if I was him I'd just keep going. I mean you've got a 400+ run lead with still 2.5 days left just go for it. His next target should be world record  If I were him, I'd say fuck it! We're 1-0 up in the series, who cares if we draw, let's go for 1,000! Then he could even beat Lara's 501. But seriously I reckon he'll declare either when he makes 401 or at tea if he's out before then.

This just makes me think what Cook and Trott could have done last year in Brisbane if we'd had a few more days. Edited by gooner4life_8: 5/1/2012 01:39:33 PM

Got Ponting and would've been thinking here we go get on a roll here. Then Hussey comes in and a 300 run partnership

 Apparently the stump mic picked up Clarke saying to Hussey "If you've got 300 in you I'll stay with you" that's the spirit.

Why Clarke, why!? Seriously, it's gonna be a while until someone has a better chance than that of breaking a world record. I hate him even more now, I was hoping he would keep going... only to get out on 399 of course

Also remember that there is rain forecast for tomorrow which may have played into his thinking.

Sehwag's strike rate is just ridiculous.

Clarke is the only person that comes close to my dislike of Ricky Ponting.

I was following the match at work on cricinfo and was getting text updates from my brother. Wanted him to try for 400. I think he might have been a little afraid that 2 days may not be enough to bowl India out () and he'd be perceieved as being selfish and not putting the team first ahead of his own personal milestones. My 2 cents anyway.

He'll be perceived as a selfish git, regardless.

Good decision to declare by Clarke. The pitch is pretty flat, so the lives of Dravid, Gambhir, Tendulkar and Laxman have the ability to bat for days - just like the aussie middle order did. Also, if someone like Sehwag got going you'd want to have enough time to bat again.
Its hard enough for a captain to declare on a batsmen, but when its the captain himself it becomes even harder. He put the team first, which is what you would expect. It was also nice for him to wait for Huss (my fav) to get his 150.
I never liked Clarke when he started out, due to the whole pre-destined captaincy thing. He is up there as one of my favourites now though.

Tendulkar 70*, will we see yet another historical moment in this 100th SCG test?

 Clarke just loves fucking with India doesn't he. Tendulkar gone.
That's now 6 times since his last 100 that Sachin has not gone on to convert a 50 into a 100.

Kohli has to go, no way he has the technique for test cricket just yet. Sehwag has to be on notice too.

South Africa win the 3rd test by 10 wickets after not even facing 1 legitimate ball in their 2nd innings
