Captain's red card for bling ding-a-ling

A PENIS piercing has earned a Melbourne soccer player a red card - and a red face - after he refused to remove the intimate bling and was sent off the field.
The captain of the Old Hill Wanderers reserves was marched into a change room by a furious field umpire during the bizarre incident that left players and spectators gobsmacked.
The referee apparently realised there was more to it when the young gun was hit in the groin and left sprawled on the grass in pain.
"He got hit in the privates and I guess he was just checking to see everything was still OK down there," an opposition player said. "But then the ump's spotted it."
A fiery confrontation between the pair was captured on amateur video.
"Don't make it any worse or I will stop the game," the referee declares before ordering the player into the change rooms. The ref walks from the building moments later and pulls out a red card.
"This is ridiculous, a disgrace," one onlooker says. "He's been sent off."
Under VicSoccer rules players are required to remove ear and nose piercings. Eyebrow piercings are required to be taped over but there is no rule for more intimate piercings.
The captain, 28, was suspended for at least a week. He declined to comment when contacted by the Herald Sun but posted the video to Twitter.
