It warmed my heart to see Simon Talbot's piece on Spain in the latest 442rag. As a long suffering Australian half Spanish half Maltese citizen, when it comes to the Euro's I'm never gonna see Malta in there in my life time (or ever) so thankfully there is Spain on the extreme opposite end of the spectrum for me. Always favorites and never wins (bar once, when the tournament was much smaller).
You forget reason 26 though and that is the fans deserve it (something at least). As an Australian first and foremost seeing Australia qualify for Germany was like releasing the kinetic energy of a bear trap, the relief was overwhelming. Same goes for España as there is so much negative energy built up from failed Word Cups and Euro's that if they actually do win Spain will explode into another dimension. Hopefully more united then ever.
