I heard the FFV held their Annual General Meeting last Wednesday without much fanfare. I wonder how many clubs who make up the Federation knew of this meeting and attended this. In years gone by the FFV AGM use to be a big event with every club in attendance, not so these days. What has changed?

FFV CELEBRATE A POSITIVE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Football Federation Victoria (FFV) announced continued growth in the game of football in Victoria at its 2011 Annual General Meeting held at the corporate offices in St Kilda on Wednesday 21 March.
Included in that is an 8.9% increase in overall player registrations since 2008; an astounding 110% increase in player self registration on the MyFootballClub website and a continual year on year decrease in overall misconduct statistics.
FFV CEO Mark Rendell says the organisation set itself some significant challenges over the four year strategic planning period from 2008 – 2011 and largely achieved them.
“The co-relation between increased participation in the sport with a decrease in the statistics for misconduct is an interesting one and it proves that FFV’s hard work in these areas is paying off,” said Mr Rendell.
“Not only do we have more people playing the game but due to FFV’s zero tolerance policy for misconduct offences there has been less offending, helping towards the goal of making football in Victoria an enjoyable experience for all involved.
“The growth in participation numbers is also very pleasing as it has come across the full spectrum of participants, male and female, outdoor, futsal.”
Other highlights from the year include: • 75% increase in referees since 2008 • Green Shirt program for first year referees engaging 380 people • 174 coach development programs delivered reaching 2368 coaches
Another pleasing aspect was the investment in synthetic pitches.
“At the beginning of 2007 there were three synthetic pitches in the state of Victoria,” said Mr Rendell.
“At the end of 2011 the number of synthetic pitches had grown to 33 with the FFV’s goal to reach 49 by the end of 2014.”
The FFV’s United Through Football (UTF) program was also seen as one of the major achievements for the state body. UTF was launched in March 2011 and is designed to connect the newly arrived and culturally diverse communities with their new country and local community.
Fifty six applications were approved in 2011 totalling more than $100,000 and over 3000 players, coaches, officials and administrators were assisted through this initiative.
Also at the AGM three stalwarts of the game were inducted as Life Members of the FFV.
Cornelius (Cor) Teeuw, Michael (Mick) Italia and Nick Karlich all received recognition from FFV President Nick Monteleone.

I'd doubt that Ben - every player is given a registration ID - I've kept the same ID since I was 13, and have played at several clubs in different regions in different competitions. I'd expect it's the same for all players.
